Arsenal close to finalising new Mikel Arteta contract

Arsenal are close to finalising a new contract for Premier League-winning manager Mikel Arteta.

The Spaniard's previous deal was signed back n the summer of 2024 and is set to expire at the end of the current campaign. However, an agreement is nearing for a new deal according to journalist Sami Mokbel of BBC Sport.

It's likely that the 44-year-old's new contract will make him one of the most well-paid managers in football.

Arteta had previously told supporters that they didn't need to worry about his future at the club with his renovation a seeming inevitability.

So far Arteta has overseen 358 games at the helm of the Gunners with a record of 218 wins, 67 draws, and 73 defeats.
