How Daniel Levy played key role in convincing Randal Kolo Muani to join Tottenham

TBR Football understands that Daniel Levy has played a key role in convincing Paris Saint-Germain attacker Randal Kolo Muani to join on deadline day.

Tottenham are close to signing Kolo Muani on loan, as TBR Football revealed, with the winger currently in London to undergo his medical.

TBR Football reported on Sunday that Tottenham had asked about Kolo Muani, but even then, the winger was still holding out to join Juventus.

But following Juventus’ decision to withdraw from talks and instead sign Lois Openda, the Frenchman quickly became attached to the idea of a move to North London.

Randal Kolo Muani is believed to have a lot of respect for Daniel Levy following the pair’s negotiations back in January.

Tottenham wanted Kolo Muani back in January, but the winger opted to turn them down in favour of a move to Juventus.

The 26-year-old was quick to tell his camp to make contact with Spurs after his move to Turin fell apart, and he is believed to be excited by Thomas Frank’s project.

Bailey told TBR Football: “Kolo Muani learnt over the weekend that his move to Juventus was off, at the point options emerged.

“I am told that the player himself indicated to his people to make the call to Spurs. He maintained a lot of respect for Daniel Levy and the club after they came close to landing him in January.

“Once it became known that Spurs wanted him and he wanted Spurs, it has not taken too long for this deal to progress.”

The North London club opted to accelerate a deal for the French international after learning that Dominic Solanke’s injury was worse than first feared.

Frank said Tottenham wouldn’t sign another striker on transfer deadline day, but things clearly changed since learning the latest on Solanke.

The Lilywhites have added great depth to their attack with Kudus on the right, Simons in the number ten role, and Kolo Muani filling the number nine role.

Spurs needed greater depth in quality, given their involvement back in the Champions League, and now they have just that.
