Antony is closing in on a move to Real Betis from Manchester United on transfer deadline day.

United are set to receive a fixed fee of €22million (£19m), with the potential for an additional €3million (£2.6m) in add-ons. They've also included a 50 per cent sell-on clause in the deal, ensuring that they will profit when Antony eventually leaves Betis.

To avoid a PSR (Profit and Sustainability Rules) loss, United had to offload Antony for £32.8m, but Betis have found it difficult to secure a permanent deal for the forward over the summer. After a successful loan spell at the Spanish club last season, Antony was keen on a move to Betis.

And the Brazilian has posted an update on Instagram - with a video hinting at his imminent move to the Seville-based club.

Antony's post has received likes from United captain Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot. The 25-year-old has been training away from United's first-team this summer - after asking to leave Old Trafford.

Antony scored nine goals and provided five assists in 26 appearances for Betis last term. Speaking in May, Antony broke down in tears when he discussed his time in Manchester.

"[Coming to Betis] It's changed a lot because I needed to find myself, because of everything I went through in my personal life," Antony told TNT Sports Brazil.

"As I said, I wanted to do things, but they didn't seem to work out because I wasn't happy, I didn't feel that desire to play football, and I needed to find myself and be happy again because playing football was always something I loved.

"I went through difficult times [at United] when I no longer felt that pleasure. I even always told my brother, I told him that I couldn't take it any more."
