The teenager has joined the Canaries on a free transfer, although the Red Devils have inserted performance bonuses into the deal. Baumann will link up with City's development squad initially.

Baumann, a Ukrainian youth international, has penned a contract until 2027 with City retaining a 12-month option. Baumann is hoping to advance his claims to break into senior football during his spell at Carrow Road.

"I feel great, it's a brilliant feeling. I'm really excited for this new opportunity, this is a good place to come and play football,” he told City’s official channels.

"I'm a central midfielder, but I can play anywhere across the midfield. I like to get on the ball in tight situations and drive forward.

"I've also represented Ukraine at youth level. A great opportunity for me, a great group of players and definitely something I'm really proud of."

A member of the Manchester United academy since childhood, Baumann has made 41 appearances for their youth sides including 10 for the U21s. His most recent outing came in a 4-2 victory over his new club, with Baumann clearly impressing with his performance.

He becomes the latest development addition at City following the likes of Botan Ameen from Swindon, Glenn McCourt from Derry City and Rueben Cooper from Kilmarnock. Others like Luis Lines, Luke Towler and Rylee Mitchell have formed part of a busy period of development recruitment.

Baumann was born in Bolton to Ukrainian parents originally from Kolomyia and represents the country at under-18 level. He has two caps and made his debut in a 2-1 Uefa Euro U19 qualifying defeat to Kazakhstan in November 2024.

He signed his first professional contract with Manchester United in September last year, but is believed to be enthused by City's plan for his development. Baumann turns 19 in January and hasn't any involvement with Ruben Amorim's first-team squad.
