Every deal Man Utd completed on transfer deadline day mid-season 2026

Another deadline day is over and it was a predictably low-key affair for Manchester United this time around.

Unlike the transfer deadline day that saw Manchester United complete a deal for Senne Lammens earlier this season, there were no big-time moves this time around.

United were still active on the outgoings front with several players sent out on loan deals. Here is a round-up of all of them…

Ethan Wheatley

Young striker Ethan Wheatley has been sent out on the third loan spell of his young career.

Wheatley has signed on loan with Bradford City, having spent the first half of the season at League One rivals Northampton.

The 20-year-old spent a short stint with Walsall last season. He became Manchester United’s 250th youth graduate in April 2024, making his United debut under Erik ten Hag.

James Scanlon

Gibraltar international James Scanlon has secured the first loan move of his career and it is long overdue.

The creative midfielder has been one of the best players for the under-18s and under-21s over the past two seasons.

Most recently Scanlon scored a hat-trick in an under-21 win over Sporting, reinforcing how he has outgrown this level and needs a fresh challenge.

Scanlon has joined League Two side Swindon Town on loan for the rest of the season.

Gabriele Biancheri

Prolific academy striker Gabriele Biancheri has joined Rotherham United on loan, where he will link up with midfielder Dan Gore.

Several clubs were believed to be interested in Biancheri, who has secured his first ever loan move following his switch to United in early 2023.

Biancheri is a Wales under-21 striker who will hope to use this move as a platform to return to United and start competing for a spot in the senior squad in pre-season.

Jacob Devaney

Under-21 captain Jacob Devaney has signed on loan with Scottish side St Mirren until the end of the season.

This is Devaney’s first loan move and will prepare him for a potential tilt at the Manchester United first team next season.

The Republic of Ireland under-21 was in need of a new challenge and this loan is a great opportunity for him.

One late loan recall

Jack Moorhouse was recalled from his loan at Leyton Orient, with United announcing the decision on deadline day.

Moorhouse had fallen out of favour at Orient, who moved to recruit former United academy talent Dylan Levitt.

He will now return to United to play under-21 football for the rest of the season.
