David Beckles wins second J60 junior title in Accra

American tennis player David Beckles has become the winner of the J60 junior tournament in Accra, Ghana, for the second time. In the singles final, he defeated Frenchman Antoine Baudo 1:6, 6:3, 6:3.

A comeback victory in the final

Beckles lost the first set but levelled the match thanks to precise baseline shots and effective serving. In the deciding set, the American maintained the pace of the game, completed the comeback and won another ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors title in Accra.

As MyJoyOnline reports, Beckles defeated Ghana's Kingsley Alormenu 6:0, 6:4 in the semi-finals. Baudo beat Mannan Ashok Agarwal 7:6 (5), 6:1 in his semi-final match.

The next tournament in Accra

The competition took place at the National Tennis Centre on the grounds of the Accra Sports Stadium. The tournament was organized in partnership with Tennis Foundation Ghana and the Ghana Tennis Federation, with local and foreign junior players taking part.

From September 28 to October 3, Accra will host the higher-category J100 tournament. It will give participants an opportunity to earn ranking points and gain international experience.
