The transfer window is has stepped up another gear as Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham work on huge deals during the World Cup. The Gunners have launched a pursuit of Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes after talks with the player's agent, and have seen a first bid worth around £55million rejected. A second offer is said to be imminent. Arsenal are also keen to wrap up a deal for Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers, and will soon sign Leicester wonderkid Jeremy Monga.

Newcastle are being raided this summer, with Tottenham closing in on the signing of Sandro Tonali, who has reportedly agreed personal terms on a six-year deal ahead of joining for around £85m. Spurs will then move to wrap up a deal for Mateus Fernandes for a similar figure. Chelsea are set to sign two defenders, with Marco Palestra undergoing a medical and talks over a £47.5m deal for Maxence Lacroix advancing.

Manchester United also want Tonali and Fernandes, but are now moving on to other targets in the form of Felix Nmecha, Alex Scott and Aurelien Tchouameni. Ederson will soon complete his move from Atalanta. Liverpool continue to work on a deal for Yan Diomande, and Man City are set to announced the £116m arrival of Elliot Anderson. Man Utd scouted Araujo

Manchester United have scouted Sporting left-back Maxi Araujo.

According to Portuguese outlet Record, the Uruguay defender is attracting interest at the World Cup despite his country’s early exit, and his admirers now include Man Utd.

Tottenham and Chelsea have previously been linked.

The defender has a £68million release clause, but the Primeira Liga side are opening to starting negotiations at £50m.

Fernandes preferred destination revealed

Mateus Fernandes would rather join Manchester United ahead of Tottenham.

That’s according to Football365, who report that the midfielder is in high demand this summer after West Ham’s relegation. Real Madrid have also credited with interest in the Portuguese.

Spurs and Man Utd are said to both be in talks with player and club over a deal, though rival reports claim Spurs have agreed personal terms with Fernandes.

Anderson's eye-watering Man City contract revealed

Elliot Anderson has signed a five-year deal at Manchester City worth around £300,000 a week.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein report that City struck a £116million agreement with Nottingham Forest to sign the midfielder.

It is said that City will pay the full figure up front.

City will hold an option to extend his deal for a further year, too.

Anderson is currently with the England squad at the World Cup, amid suggestions that he will not play against Panama this evening.

Man Utd explore Nmecha deal as Tonali alternative

Manchester United are reportedly keeping a close eye on Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha, whose £73.5million release clause could be activated during the summer transfer window.

According to the Daily Mail, there is hope that negotiations between the two clubs that could see a deal struck below the buyout figure.

The Germany international is attracting attention from several top clubs, including Newcastle.

But United have been monitoring Nmecha since before the World Cup, with the 25-year-old now emerging as one of the club's leading transfer targets this summer with Sandro Tonali expected to join Tottenham

Arsenal preparing second Bruno Guimaraes bid

Arsenal are set to step up their pursuit of Bruno Guimaraes with a second bid for the Newcastle player.

The Mail report that a first offer worth around £55million was dismissed, and now an improved formal bid is incoming.

The Gunners have already opened discussions with the Brazil international's representatives as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his midfield ahead of the new season.

However, Newcastle remain adamant that Guimaraes is not for sale and are determined to keep their captain.

Arsenal will continue to assess alternative midfield targets if a deal for the 28-year-old proves too difficult to complete.

Chelsea set to sign £47.5m Lacroix

Chelsea are closing in on a deal to sign Crystal Palace defender Maxence Lacroix in a deal worth around£47.5million.

The 26-year-old centre-back is expected to finalise the move once France’s World Cup exploits end. The tournament runs until July 19.

French outlet L’Equipe report that the deal is almost complete, with only a few details to be finalised.

Arsenal get Bruno Guimaraes boost

Newcastle are considering a move for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha, which could serve as a transfer boost for Arsenal.

Standard Sport understands that Arsenal have held initial talks with Bruno Guimaraes’ representatives to understand his situation at St James’ Park after Newcastle missed out on European qualification.

The Gunners have registered their interest in signing the 28-year-old this summer and are believed to have made an informal proposal of around £55million.

However, it is understood there has been no direct contact with Newcastle and an official offer has not been submitted as it stands.

Through Guimaraes’ team Newcastle have made it clear that the Brazilian is not for sale this summer, but it would appear they are bracing themselves for a potential exit by lining up a replacement.

DEAL AGREED

Tottenham have reached a full agreement over a new contract for goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky.

Standard Sport understands Kinsky, who was already tied down until 2031, has signed a fresh five-year deal with the option of an extra year and improved terms.

Spurs have rewarded Kinsky for an excellent end to last season and to reflect his renewed importance under manager Roberto De Zerbi.

Arsenal are looking to bolster their attacking options, with Morgan Rogers the top priority for this summer.

The Gunners are also looking to strengthen in midfield and initial talks have been held with Bruno Guimaraes' representatives.

Newcastle insist the midfielder is not for sale, but reports suggest a verbal approach in the region of £55million has been made by the Gunners to his representatives.
