Eagles News: Philly fans are taking over Tennessee

Just take it from Eagles super-fan Paul Edwards. He got stopped by the local news on his way from Philly to Nashville, and here’s what he had to say: “Let’s get this party started buddy. Here we go, here we go. Tennessee Titans? We’re gonna own that stadium. There’s no doubt about that. Get ready for a stompin’. Be ready for our offensive line to run you over. Go Birds!” Something tells me thousands upon thousands of “Pauls” will be at Nissan Stadium. Eagles fans appear to be getting to Nashville early to make the most of the weekend. There’s been plenty of videos of green-garbed Philadelphians walking around in Nashville and taking over bars on Broadway. They are even getting their “E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES chants” going anywhere and everywhere they can.

The Philadelphia Eagles are on the road for the first time this season to take on the Tennessee Titans. Man, it’s (going to be) a hot one with a projected feels like temperature of 94 degrees Fahrenheit at Sunday’s 1:00 PM kickoff. In order to preview this Week 2 matchup, I reached out to our enemies over at Music City Miracles. The jovial Jimmy Morris kindly took the time took the time to answer my questions about this upcoming battle. Let’s take a look at the answers.

Brandon Gowton of Bleeding Green Nation was nice enough to answer 5 questions about his Philadelphia Eagles ahead of tomorrow’s matchup. I did the same for him, and you can read his questions with my answers here. I long for the day when I can answer the opposing team’s questions with some confidence in the Tennessee Titans. That day is not today.

Bad offense: Under new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion, the Philadelphia Eagles featured five three-and-outs and only 10 first downs, far below the league average of 19.8 first downs in Week 1. More bad offense: The Tennessee Titans managed only 195 total yards in their home opener against the Jets, had just 194 yards in the 2025 season finale at Jacksonville and failed to break 200 total yards in three other games last year. Road warriors: Since Nick Sirianni took over in 2021, Philadelphia is 30-13 on the road, a near 70 percent win rate — the best in the NFL over that span.

Tennessee Titans team total UNDER 15.5 (-105). The Titans’ offensive operation was the worst I saw in Week 1: play designs that were dead in the water, offensive linemen uncertain of their assignments, easy drops and bad routes from receivers and poor accuracy and timing from Cam Ward at quarterback. It’s tough to find anything to hang their hat on from a 23-10 loss to the Jets. It’s worth remarking that Brian Daboll’s offenses have been poor in Week 1 -- six, six and and zero points in the three seasons previous -- and then stronger in Week 2. But against this Philadelphia Eagles defense, it’s tough to have much faith. Philadelphia’s defensive front looked as deep and disruptive as ever against an average Washington Commanders front, and the Titans are comfortably one of the eight worst lines in football. Though defensive back Cooper DeJean was banged up in the Week 1 game and sat out practice Wednesday, the Eagles’ outside corner duo of Quinyon Mitchell and Riq Woolen still poses a huge problem for the Titans’ ability to create explosive plays through the air. The talent difference here feels simply insurmountable. The Titans will need defensive takeaways or big special teams outputs to get into scoring range. I don’t see them getting enough. I would play this up to -115.

Deonte Banks of the New York Giants did not practice for the second straight day on Saturday and is listed as questionable with a calf injury for Monday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams. That news comes one day after the Giants put cornerback Paulson Adebo on injured reserve with a knee injury. Banks was in and out of the Week 1 victory over the Dallas Cowboys with what was said to be cramping.

The Dallas Cowboys host the Washington Commanders for a super-important Week 2 NFC East battle. Both teams are coming off a divisional loss last week to unsatisfyingly kick off the new season. It’s very early in the season, but the loser of this game will be subjected to a dreaded 0-2 start and enter crisis mode. Hopefully, that team won’t be the Cowboys as they look to rebound and put positive vibes back into the universe. It won’t be easy as divisional games never are, but here are five things we should be looking for when these two battle it out in AT&T on Sunday.
