A masterclass in wrist spin from Kuldeep Yadav completely turned the game on its head during this period, snatching the initiative back for the hosts. Prior to the collapse, Justin Greaves held the innings together and successfully converted his nervous nineties into a well-deserved century. However, the momentum has now violently swung India's way. West Indies made a flying start in the opening ODI, racking up 85 without loss across the first 10 overs to put India firmly on the back foot. Justin Greaves set the tone by striking nine boundaries in a fluent 32-ball 42, while John Campbell flexed his muscles with two sixes and five fours to race to 37 off 29 balls.
