Transfer news LIVE!

The summer window is edging towards a dramatic conclusion as Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham push for more signings ahead of the deadline. Arsenal are still in pursuit of Julian Alvarez and have held talks over Victor Osimhen, while the Gunners are stepping up their move for Ezri Konsa amid shock links to Jarell Quansah and Jack Hinshelwood. Arsenal are also said to be keen on Christian Kofane as Gabriel Martinelli, Ethan Nwaneri and Gabriel Jesus head for the exit.

Chelsea are remaining defiant on Enzo Fernandez as Manchester City also target Pedro Neto, while Manchester United have been handed a boost over Eduardo Camavinga as they look at a new striker in Igor Matanovic. Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye were left out of PSG’s squad for the Trophee des Champions on Sunday night in good news for Liverpool, who are trying to sign both players. Tottenham are close to deals for Savinho and Cody Gakpo as they also eye Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson.

Barcelona have now agreed a fee for Rodri, while West Ham are in talks over Joel Piroe as Fulham chase Raoul Bellanova. Follow the latest transfer news, rumours and gossip live below!

Latest transfer news and rumours

Man City to sign Ayyoub Bouaddi as Rodri exit agreed

As one midfielder leaves Manchester City, another is now expected to arrive.

While Rodri travels to Barcelona in order to undergo a medical and sign a four-year contract at the Camp Nou after a package worth €76m was agreed, City are widely reported to be about to clinch the signing of Ayyoub Bouaddi.

Lille’s teenage sensation impressed hugely at the World Cup with Morocco, with Arsenal among the clubs said to be interested in his signature.

However, City quickly became the frontrunners and have been in talks for several weeks, with a deal now close to being finalised.

Juventus to make Guglielmo Vicario loan offer

While the likes of Cody Gakpo and Savinho are expected to arrive, Guglielmo Vicario still looks very likely to leave Tottenham before the transfer deadline.

Spurs’ former No1 and vice-captain wants to exit Spurs in search of a new challenge and has been strongly linked with a return to his native Italy.

Juventus has emerged as Vicario’s most likely option, though their renewed attempts to sign Emiliano Martinez over the weekend after Aston Villa swooped for Parma’s Zion Suzuki appeared to leave him in a tricky spot.

However, Juventus pulled the plug on their move for Martinez amid concerns over a finger injury and are now back in for Vicario, who will hope to avoid a situation similar to the one experienced by predecessor Hugo Lloris in north London.

Fabrizio Romano says that talks will advance today, with Juventus ready to offer Spurs a season-long loan deal that includes an option - rather than an obligation - to buy next summer.

Vicario has apparently already agreed personal terms.

Cody Gakpo 'one step away' from Tottenham move

As Liverpool continue talks with PSG over Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye, Cody Gakpo is now said to be “one step away” from joining Tottenham.

Big-spending Spurs have been pursuing a deal for the Dutch forward and also Manchester City winger Savinho as they look to close an ambitious summer transfer window with three attacking additions - the third could be Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson.

According to journalist Nicolo Schira, Gakpo is now very close to joining Tottenham, having already agreed personal terms on a five-year contract in north London that would run until 2031.

Rodri set for Barcelona medical today

Rodri will fly to Barcelona today in order to undergo a medical.

It was reported last night that the reigning LaLiga champions had finally agreed a deal with Manchester City at the third attempt worth an initial €60m up front, with a potential total of €16m in add-ons - some of which are more easy to achieve than others.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Rodri, 30, has been given permission to travel to Catalonia today to undergo a medical and officially sign a four-year contract at the Camp Nou that will be valid until the summer of 2030.

The World Cup Golden Ball winner and former Ballon d’Or holder is definitely on the move in one of the biggest transfers of the summer.

Mourinho approves Real move for Arsenal star

Teamtalk claims that Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has approved a move for Martin Zubimendi.

The Arsenal midfielder could find his minutes limited in north London this term with the arrival of Bruno Guimaraes, and he also arrived back late after his country’s World Cup triumph earlier this summer.

Madrid have had a busy window with plenty of incomings, but there could be room for one more - perhaps Zubimendi - if they are able to move on Eduardo Camavinga, as they would like to do.

Zubimendi played the final 15 minutes of the Gunners’ 3-0 win over Manchester City in the Community Shield at the weekend.

Man Utd eye deal for Igor Matanovic

Manchester United are setting their sights on a new striker.

Michael Carrick is known to be targeting the addition of a left-back and potentially also a third central midfield recruit before the deadline.

However, it appears that the United boss also wants to strengthen up front amid suggestions that they are keeping a close eye on Igor Matanovic at Freiburg.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the Croatian international is an option that the Red Devils are looking at as they aim to bolster their strike force at Old Trafford amid Joshua Zirkzee’s expected exit and continued uncertainty over Marcus Rashford’s future.

Liverpool boost over Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye

Liverpool look to have been handed a new double boost over Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye.

The Reds are known to be pushing to sign both Paris Saint-Germain wingers ahead of the September 1 transfer deadline in what would be separate deals.

PSG look to be preparing for their respective exits, with both Barcola and Mbaye omitted from Luis Enrique’s squad for last night’s Trophee des Champions.

They watched from the stands as 10-man PSG were stunned 1-0 by Lens at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis.

Arsenal get new Julian Alvarez update

Arsenal appear to remain in pursuit of Julian Alvarez.

The Argentina striker has been the Gunners’ top attacking transfer target all summer, despite failed attempts to pull off a blockbuster deal for Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr.

Atletico Madrid have made it crystal clear that they do not wish to sell Alvarez amid strong interest from Arsenal and Barcelona, but the saga looks far from over as things stand.

ESPN in Argentina report that Mikel Arteta has made another attempt to convince the ex-Manchester City forward to move to north London, only to be told that he is still targeting a switch to the Camp Nou.

ICYMI: Rodri to join Barcelona

Rodri is set to sign for Barcelona from Manchester City.

That is according to The Athletic and David Ornstein, who reported that the La Liga champions would pay €76.5million to the Premier League side for the midfielder, with a €60m fixed fee and over €11m in very achievable bonuses. Rodri is thought to have signed a four-year deal at the Nou Camp.

Martinez to Juventus off, sights set on Vicario

The Athletic report that Emi Martinez will not join Juventus from Aston Villa, as had been first thought.

The Argentine looked set to move to Italy with Villa due to land Zion Suzuki from Parma as their new No1, but the sides did not agree on the €10million fee that the Premier League outfit were demanding.

Juve are now believed to have turned to Guglielmo Vicario, who is surplus to requirements at Tottenham.
