Packers training camp practice ends

Tom Silverstein

The Packers' third training camp practice is over.

The practice was the longest of the first three this week. The team isn't practicing in pads yet but that will change next week.

12:24 pm CT

Christian Watson with touchdowns in plays near the end zone

Ryan Wood and Christopher Kuhagen

Christian Watson opens the third-goal period with a 9-yard TD. He was wide open on an out route and Jordan Love found him while rolling out.

Watson then beat Carrington Valentine on a 3-yard slant and made a diving catch in end zone while keeping both feet in.

Watson is healthy after missing last season's training camp as he continued recovering from a torn ACL.

He returned for the Packers' seventh game in 2025 and finished with the second-most receiving yards on the team.

Watson received a four-year contract extension in June, signaling the team's longterm commitment with its former second-round wide receiver.

New Packers cornerback Benjamin St-Juste makes interception on Tyrod Taylor

Tom Silverstein, Christopher Kuhagen and Ryan Wood

Benjamin St-Juste has announced his presence at camp.

The cornerback just jumped a Tyrod Taylor out route to Savion Williams on the right sideline and picked it off and ran the other way for six.

Taylor, signed this offseason as a replacement for Malik Willis at backup QB, would certainly like that one back. Before that interception, Taylor wasn’t having a great afternoon. The 36-year-old has been under pressure a lot but he’s missed some throws the first couple of days.

St-Juste will look to keep making an impact in his first camp in Green Bay. The Packers acquired St-Juste in free agency on a two-year deal.

The 28-year-old spent last season with the Los Angeles Chargers. He began his career with the Washington Commanders.

12:08 pm CT

Matthew Golden has another tremendous catch

Ryan Wood

Matthew Golden is having himself a day.

He caught a 20-yard fade down the right sideline from Jordan Love. Keisean Nixon had great leverage on sideline, but Golden shielded him with his back and caught over his shoulder in same motion.

Golden showed tremendous body control and had his best catch of camp, Part 2.

11:48 am CT

Keisean Nixon breaking up passes all over the field

Tom Silverstein, Ryan Wood and Christopher Kuhagen

Cornerback Keisean Nixon made his presence known during a one-minute drill against the number one offense.

Nixon broke up a fade to Christian Watson on one play and then came back on third and 10 at the 29 yard line and broke up a pass intended for Skyy Moore.

He’s flying around today.

The Nos. 1 and 2 defenses kept the offense out of the end zone on their possessions, which started at the 35 and included a lot of blitzes.

Nixon missed the first training camp practice on Wednesday with a sore hamstring before returning on Thursday.

Nixon could be motivated to show he deserves a raise. The 29-year-old said in the offseason that he should be making more than the $5 million he’s scheduled to make in salary and bonuses in 2026.

Matthew Golden has best catch of training camp

Ryan Wood and Christopher Kuhagen

Matthew Golden showed his leaping ability as he just skied to catch a Jordan Love pass between Xavier McKinney and Zaire Franklin in middle of the field for 18 yards.

It was the best catch of camp so far.

The 2025 first-round draft pick will look to have a more prominent role in the offense in his second year after a quiet rookie season. He had 29 catches for 361 yards and no touchdowns in the regular season.

He finally caught his first career touchdown in the fourth quarter of the team's wild-card playoff loss to the Chicago Bears. Golden missed three games due to injuries as well.

Golden arrived to Green Bay with a lot of fanfare after being the first WR taken by the Packers in the first round in 23 years.

11:27 am CT

Savion Williams and Bo Melton added to kick return position

Tom Silverstein

The Packers added a few new options to the kick return position.

Wide receiver Savion Williams and do-it-all player Bo Melton are now in the mix.

Other players who have taken turns in the return game so far this week have been Skyy Moore, Jayden Reed, MarShawn Lloyd, Matthew Golden, Will Sheppard and Jaden Nixon.

11:24 am CT

Tucker Kraft's training camp practice is over as Packers ease tight end back

Ryan Wood

After doing blocking drills with tight ends in individual period, his first practice reps since tearing goes ACL in November, it appears Tucker Kraft’s first practice is over.

The Packers are not yet letting him run routes on his surgically repaired knee.

With six weeks until the Packers opener in Minnesota, there’s still a long runway to get ready for Week 1. Overall, it still was a significant camp debut for Kraft.

The biggest news coming out of Green Bay today is the return of Tucker Kraft from injury.

Here's what head coach Matt Lafleur said about his star tight end:

Tucker Kraft fires up crowd at practice with lap around field

Christopher Kuhagen and Ryan Wood

You think Tucker Kraft is excited to be back at practice?

The fourth-year tight end literally just ran a lap around Ray Nitschke Field amping up the crowd.

Also, guard Aaron Banks is also back at practice. The offensive lineman has a knee injury and will have rest days mixed in throughout training camp.

It's safe to say his return was met with a little less fanfare.

Packers training camp Day 3 includes Tucker Kraft

Christopher Kuhagen and Ryan Wood

Here come the Packers for their third training camp practice.

And it's a welcome sight with Tucker Kraft suited up.

He has been out since early November after tearing his ACL in a game.

10:49 am CT

Packers have new long snapper while Matt Orzech recovers from injury

Tom Silverstein

The Packers made several moves with their roster prior to Friday's practice.

The team signed long snapper Cal Adomitis to fill in for the injured Matt Orzech (calf) and added wide receiver Kaden Prather, who played in the UFL this spring.

Adomitis was one of three long snappers the Packers tried out on July 30. He was the only one with NFL experience.

To make room for Adomitis, they appear to have released recently signed kicker Lenny Krieg. The Packers only have one kicker in camp, rookie Trey Smack, and so it's possible Krieg could come back at some point, possible under the International Player Program.

Krieg is from Germany.

10:41 am CT

Evan Williams showing fans the love at training camp

Ryan Wood

Packers safety Evan Williams is a man of the people as he heads into training camp.

Williams, a former fourth-round pick, is in his third year with the Packers.

Matt LaFleur press conference

Ryan Wood

Besides the Tucker Kraft news, here are a couple other key Matt LaFleur notes from his pre-practice press conference:

A point of emphasis this offseason was offense getting in and out of the huddle quicker. So far, he believes the operation has been better in camp.

Tomorrow's off day will be a planning day for him and coaching staff, scripting upcoming practices. Sunday's practice will be in shells, and full pads will be strapped for first time in camp Monday.

10:30 am CT

Tucker Kraft activated from PUP list

Ryan Wood and Christopher Kuhagen

Packers tight end Tucker Kraft is being activated off the physically unable to perform list on Friday, July 31, head coach Matt LaFleur said during his pre-practice press conference.

As Kraft said on camp's opening day, it didn't take long at all.

Kraft opened training camp on the PUP list as he continued to recover from a torn ACL, an injury he suffered during the team's Week 9 game on Nov. 2.

Before the injury, Kraft appeared on his way to a Pro Bowl and potentially All-Pro season.

In seven-plus games, he had 32 catches for 489 yards and six touchdowns for an average of 15.3 yards per catch. Kraft was a yards after catch machine last season.

A week before the injury, Kraft had a career-high of 143 yards on seven receptions and two touchdowns in the Packers’ 35-25 win at the Pittsburgh Steelers.
