Inter-District U-19 event sets new standards, LRCA officials laud PCB initiative

LAHORE - Lahore Region Cricket Association (LRCA) officials have expressed satisfac-tion over the successful organisation of the ongoing Inter-District U-19 Cricket Tournament and wel-comed the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) decision to include regions in the domestic cricket structure, calling it a positive step towards strengthening grassroots cricket. The remarks came during a meeting between LRCA Operations Manager Abid Hussain and Tournament Committee Chairman Waqar-ul-Muneer, where they reviewed the administrative, technical and operational aspects of the ongoing U-19 competition. Both officials appreciated the excellent arrangements, quality of grounds, facilities provided to young cricketers and overall management of the tournament.

They reaffirmed their commitment to creating a competitive and professional environment where emerging players can develop their skills and prepare for higher levels of cricket.

During the meeting, the participants also discussed the PCB’s revamped domestic cricket structure. They termed the inclusion of all regions in first-class domestic cricket a historic and encouraging devel-opment, saying the move would provide talented cricketers from across the country with greater op-portunities to showcase their abilities.

They added that a stronger regional system would help identify and nurture promising players while creating a more organised pathway from grassroots cricket to the national level.

Abid Hussain and Waqar-ul-Muneer appreciated the efforts of PCB Chairman Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Di-rector Domestic Cricket Abdullah Khurram Niazi, Usama Sheron, and LRCA President Khawaja Nadeem Ahmed for their contributions towards promoting domestic cricket, strengthening regional structures and securing a brighter future for young cricketers.

They expressed hope that the improved domestic framework would raise Pakistan cricket standards, provide equal opportunities to emerging talent and help establish a sustainable cricket development system across the country.
