Mayar Sherif vs Paula Badosa prediction

Mayar Sherif’s sensational run on clay continues after she swept into the final in Iasi.

The Egyptian won 125-level tournaments on the dirt in Contrexeville and Brescia prior to this event and will now be bidding for a third in a row on the surface here.

The winning streak on clay is now up to 14 matches after the world number 97 crushed third seed Oleksandra Oliynykova 6-3 6-1. Sherif will now take on former world number two Paula Badosa, who is also on a winning streak following a title success at the Bastad 125.

The Spaniard edged world number 148 Tamara Zidansek 3-6 7-5 7-6 to make it nine victories in a row.

This is very much a clash of two in-form players and a tough call. Badosa leads the match-up 1-0 having won 6-3 6-1 on the clay of Charleston in 2023 and although this will be a closer battle, we feel Paula has the greater quality and the game-plan to come out on top if she executes it well.
