Morocco World Cup star Azzedine Ounahi is set to leave Girona this summer, according to reports, with Hull City interested in signing him.

The Tigers remain in the market for more midfield spark and Ounahi is an option after impressing for Morocco in North America. But Ajax are said to be the frontrunners to secure his signature.

Lucas Herrington's move to Hull City in the Premier League is a risk worth taking, according to the Australian's agent, who brokered the deal with the English club.

Herrington made his debut in the second half of Saturday's 0-0 draw with French Ligue 1 side Nice at the MKM Stadium, and looked composed alongside fellow new arrival Nobel Mendy.

His agent, Buddy Farah, has given an insight into the decision-making process, with Herrington joining City for a fee in the region of £10m from MLS side Colorado Rapids, and he could make his league debut against Manchester United this weekend when the Premier League kicks off.

"His desire was to possibly go to Barcelona, and that was obviously real," he told Football 360. "They obviously had flown over and met myself and his family, really presented a project to us that we felt, okay, well this kid could be amongst the world’s elite, playing out of La Liga or playing at least for the interim, maybe at another La Liga club if Hansi Flick (Barca boss) didn’t think that he was ready.

"When that didn’t transpire due to the fact that the levels of money Colorado wanted at the time was not a small figure… And this was prior to the World Cup."

Hull City are in talks for Real Betis winger Pablo Garcia, according to the Daily Mail. The 20-year-old is valued at around £7million by Betis, who are willing to sell if the right offer comes in.

The Tigers have been looking for a new winger after a proposed deal for Aston Villa's Leon Bailey stalled. And Garcia, who has become a key player for Manuel Pellegrini's side, has emerged as a top target.

Garcia came on as a substitute for former Manchester United forward Antony in their 1-0 friendly defeat at Inter Milan on Sunday.

Former Hull City boss Iain Dowie believes it will take more new arrivals to give the Tigers a realistic chance of staying in the Premier League this season.

"Sadly, a lot of people are writing off Hull. However, when you look at the recruitment, Sergej Jakirovic has done an amazing job," Dowie said. "He has extensive experience around the world, in Slovenia, Croatia, and Turkey, and he understands the game brilliantly. That said, as we stand here today, I don't believe they currently have enough to survive.

"I do think they need to spend a bit more. What Sergej Jakirovic needs to do now is improve their defensive resilience; they'll likely need to bring in a few more players at a better level to achieve that.

"It's incredibly difficult to come into the Premier League, not spend a sizeable amount of money, and expect to compete. It will be interesting to see how it plays out, but Sergej has already surprised a few people; he's done a brilliant job."

Hull City forward Joe Gelhardt will miss the start of the season after arriving from Leeds United with an ankle injury, which is another blow to the Tigers, who are already nursing a host of fitness concerns.

Gelhardt is set to be out for two weeks, and while it's not thought to be serious, the absence of the 24-year-old will frustrate boss Sergej Jakirovic, with his attacking options limited following the departure of Enis Destan last week.

The City boss will hope owner Acun Ilicali can back him with a new frontman before Saturday's Premier League opener against Manchester United, with Oli McBurnie the club's only senior frontman going into the weekend.

Hull City's £10million opening bid for Zan Vipotnik has been described as "pathetic" by former Swansea City forward Andy Robinson.

The Swans rejected the Tigers' bid for the Slovenia international - who was the Championship's top scorer with 23 goals last term.

"Hopefully we can keep Vipotnik because his goals, it's quite phenomenal. He scored 25 goals (in all competitions) last year," Robinson told BBC Radio Wales Sport. "£10m for the player who finished as top scorer in the Championship is pathetic. It's absolutely pathetic to even start discussing that. I think the valuation will be around £20m to £25m."

According to ToroZone, Hull City have made a £4.3million bid for Torino right-back Marcus Pedersen.

The Tigers are in the market for a new right sided defender and have identified Pedersen as a top target.

But Torino have since rejected Hull's offer and

But the Serie A side have rejected that offer and are demanding a figure between £6.9m and £8.6m.

Fulham and Fenerbahce are among the others eyeing up a move for Pedersen, who starred at the World Cup with Norway and is seeking an exit from Torino this summer.
