son premiership defender Jed Bews among three Geelong Cats delisted

GEELONG premiership player Jed Bews is among three Cats delisted at the end of their season.

Bews, a father-son selection in the 2011 draft, played 175 games for Geelong, including the 2022 Grand Final.

But the 32-year-old didn't feature at senior level this year and has been delisted along with George Stevens and Keighton Matofai-Forbes.

"Jed has had a huge impact both on and off the field at Geelong. As a Geelong person, his influence on our football club and the wider Geelong community has been significant," the Cats' executive general manager of football Andrew Mackie said.

"He has been a great teammate who has played countless selfless roles across his career.

"We thank Jed for everything he has given to the club and wish him the best for his next chapter."

Taken in the 2023 draft, Stevens played just four senior games across three seasons, but was the joint winner of the J.J. Liston Trophy as the VFL's best and fairest this year.

Matofai-Forbes has spent the past two seasons at the Cats but was unable to breakthrough for a senior game.
