Yadav had flown to the United Kingdom to consult a specialist in sports hernia after featuring in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Mumbai T20 League .

Last year too he had undergone a surgery for a sports hernia in the lower-right abdomen. He also had an ankle surgery in 2023.

He then captained Triumph Knights Mumbai North East in the T20 Mumbai League and scored 122 runs in the five innings. However, his team could only win one out of five league matches and finished sixth on the points table.
