Chelsea to clinch Maxence Lacroix signing

Chelsea are close to completing the signing of Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace.

The France defender has been a key target for the Blues this summer as they look to bolster their backline options under new boss Xabi Alonso.

Talks have accelerated after the World Cup, with Chelsea now expected to wrap up a deal for Lacroix worth around £51m.

Palace are moving for Lacroix’s compatriot Chrislain Matsima, of German club Augsburg, as his replacement.

Arsenal willing to spend big on Yan Diomande

Arsenal appear to be showing more significant interest in Yan Diomande.

It was first reported last weekend that the Gunners had made contact with the agents of RB Leipzig’s highly-rated Ivorian winger after being hijacked by Chelsea in their pursuit of Morgan Rogers.

Nothing much seems to have come of it so far, though German publication Bild now report that Arsenal are among the clubs to have indicated that they would be willing to pay €100m for Diomande, alongside Manchester City, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

Diomande is known to have agreed personal terms with preferred suitors PSG, though they are yet to strike a deal with Leipzig - who want €120m.

That could open the door for the likes of Arsenal, while Liverpool previously saw a huge bid for the 19-year-old rejected during the World Cup.

Chelsea plot Kerim Alajbegovic move

Chelsea are among the clubs pushing to sign Kerim Alajbegovic this summer.

The 18-year-old winger has further enhanced his growing reputation after an impressive World Cup showing with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Alajbegovic only returned to Bayer Leverkusen in March after less than a year spent in Austria with Red Bull Salzburg, though Fabrizio Romano reports this morning that he is expected to leave the German club again soon.

He says that Chelsea are considering a bid for the teenager, who also has strong interest from Serie A with Atalanta seeing an offer rejected amid competition from Juventus and Napoli.

The Telegraph have also said that Chelsea are the favourites to sign Alajbegovic in a deal worth around £30m.

Man Utd handed Aurelien Tchouameni boost

Manchester United have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Aurelien Tchouameni.

The Red Devils continue to be linked with a number of midfield targets as they eye a third addition in that area following the recent arrivals of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans.

Manu Kone, Carlos Baleba, Sander Berge, Danilo and Tyler Adams are all reported to be on United’s radar, though it seems they have pulled out of the race for Chelsea and Arsenal target Alex Scott.

They continue to look at Real Madrid amid ongoing links to Eduardo Camavinga and Tchouameni, the latter of whom The Sun claim that returning Los Blancos boss Jose Mourinho would be willing to sell this summer for around £68m as he looks to help fund a blockbuster £85m swoop for Manchester City and Spain star Rodri.

Done deal! Arsenal sign Christos Tzolis

It’s been a busy week on the transfer front for Arsenal, with Christos Tzolis joining the club officially yesterday.

The Greek international winger, 24, has signed a five-year contract in north London after passing a medical and finalising his £34m switch from Belgian champions Club Brugge.

Tzolis arrives as a replacement for Leandro Trossard, who sealed a £15.3m move to Besiktas last week.

The former Norwich man is Arsenal’s third signing of the summer window so far, following the arrival of free agent goalkeeper Illan Meslier and the permanent deal for loanee Piero Hincapie.

Arsenal launch £70m Bruno Guimaraes bid

Arsenal are poised to launch a £70million bid for Bruno Guimaraes.

The Gunners appear to have made Newcastle’s influential captain their new top transfer priority for the summer after missing out on Morgan Rogers to Chelsea.

Arsenal are now clearly ramping up their pursuit of Guimaraes after beginning club-to-club talks, with BBC Sport reporting that a £70m offer is imminent after an acceleration in negotiations over recent days.

It remains to be seen if Newcastle will accept that approach as they remain firm on their valuation, but there has been a boost for Arsenal in the agreeing of personal terms with the Brazil international.
