��������������������������������Women's Lacrosse 4/10/2026 10:58:00 AM#8 Women’s Lacrosse Hosts #14 Army in Top-15 Star ShowdownOpening draw between the Midshipmen and Black Knights is slated for 12:00 p.m.ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The #8 / #8 Navy women's lacrosse team (12-1, 4-1 Patriot League) is set for its service academy showdown with #14 / #13 Army (10-2, 5-0 Patriot League) on Saturday, April 11 at 12:00 p.m. at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md. in the annual Star Game, which is part of the overall Army-Navy Star Series presented by USAA.Saturday's game will air on CBS Sports Network, with coverage beginning at 12:00 p.m. with Jason Knapp calling play-by-play and Rachael DeCecco providing analysis.An audio-only portion of the contest will be available via WNAV with Dave McHugh calling the action: over the radio waves on 1430 AM, online at WNAV.com or through the iHeart and Audacy platforms. Additionally, live stats will be provided online.Heading into the weekend, Navy has clinched the overall 2025-26 Army-Navy Star Series, presented by USAA, with a 14-6-1 (.690) record with five Star competitions remaining. Including women's lacrosse, the final Army-Navy contests are: women's lacrosse (Saturday, 12:00 p.m. in Annapolis), men's lacrosse (Saturday, 2:30 p.m. in West Point), men's outdoor track and field (Saturday in West Point), women's outdoor track and field (Saturday in West Point), and men's tennis (Saturday, April 18 in Annapolis).As part of Saturday's Army-Navy Women's Lacrosse game presented by USAA: the first 100 midshipmen to arrive will receive a free small (8") Ledo Pizza; the first 100 fans to arrive will receive a free Navy t-shirt; and the first 1,000 fans to arrive will receive a "Beat Army" roller banner. USAA is a proud sponsor of Navy Athletics.All-Time SeriesThe game is the 14th all-time meeting between the two teams. Navy holds a 9-4 (.692) overall record against Army with a 4-3 (.571) mark in Star Games.The game will be the fifth time the two teams will meet as ranked opponents and it will be the first time that both teams enter the game in the top 15 in the national polls.Navy opened the all-time series with six straight victories, including claiming the first three Star Games (2018, '19, '21). Army had won three of four meetings, including back-to-back Star competitions (2022, '23), prior to the Midshipmen's 17-11 victory in 2024. Last season, the Black Knights claimed a 17-12 win in West Point to earn the 2025 Star, but the Midshipmen posted an 18-9 win against Army in the Patriot League Tournament semifinals to advance to the conference championship.The all-time series began in 2016 with the Midshipmen claiming an 11-5 win in West Point. The following year, Navy posted a 22-7 victory in Annapolis.The first Star Game came in 2018 with the Mids recording a 20-7 win over the Black Knights in West Point. The following year, Navy earned a Star victory at home with a 21-8 win at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Later in 2019, the two teams met again in the Patriot League Tournament with Navy notching a 20-10 win in the semifinals to advance to the conference title game.In 2021, Navy had a three-week ROM (restriction of movement) due to the COVID-19 pandemic with no games or practice prior to taking on Army. Despite a slow start, the Mids rallied for the final three goals of the game to post a 13-12 victory in West Point.Army claimed its first Star in the series in 2022, posting a 14-9 win over Navy in Annapolis. The Midshipmen were able to avenge the loss with a 16-6 win later that season in the Patriot League Tournament in Baltimore.The two teams met twice during the 2023 season with the Black Knights winning each contest. Army earned a 15-11 Star win in West Point. The two teams once again met in the Patriot League Tournament semifinals. Navy was edged 12-11 in double overtime to Army. The game was the first overtime contest between the two teams and it was the second multi-overtime game in Patriot League Tournament history.Behind a total team effort, the Midshipmen defeated the Black Knights, 17-11, in Annapolis in the 2024 Star Game. The Mids used timely scoring, solid defense, and domination in the draw circle to earn their first Star since 2021.In 2025, Army used a 7-0 run to open the game and ultimately posted a 17-12 victory over Navy in West Point in the annual Star Game. Less than a month later, the two teams met one another in the Patriot League Tournament with the Midshipmen posting an 18-9 victory over the Black Knights to advance to the conference title game.Scouting the MidshipmenThe Navy women's lacrosse team enters the weekend 12-1 on the season, including a 4-1 mark in the Patriot League. The Midshipmen have held seven opponents this season to single digits, including four conference foes.As a team, the Midshipmen have tallied 192 goals with 94 assists, while picking up 234 ground balls, winning 181 draw controls, and causing 116 turnovers.Entering the weekend, Alyssa Chung, Taylor Miles, Ava Yovino, Emma Kennedy, and Mikayla Williams lead the team with 35 or more points apiece.Chung paces the team with 61 points on a team-high 46 goals with 15 assists to her credit. The sophomore has registered 26 multi-goal games (34 games total) with 22 hat tricks, including multiple scores in all 14 regular-season Patriot League games played with 12 hat tricks.Miles follows with 43 points on 29 goals and 14 assists, while Yovino has notched 40 points thanks to 17 goals and a team-high 23 assists. Kennedy is second on the team with 32 goals, adding six assists for 38 points, while Williams rounds out the Midshipmen's top five with 35 points on 23 goals and 12 assists.Maggie DeFabio, Anna Gotterup, and Bella Paradiso close out the Mids double-digit point scorers. DeFabio has 20 points on 14 goals and six assists, while Gotterup follows with 13 points on a balanced six goals and seven assists. Paradiso has 10 points on seven goals and three assists to close out the double-digit point scorers.Kat McAteer and Chloe Brown add seven and six points. McAteer has a balanced four scores and three helpers while Brown has five goals and an assist. Caroline Gage and Rowan Kimmel have five and two points, respectively. Gage has four scores and an assist, while Kimmel has one goal and an assist. Landen Cain (1a), Julia Frosch (1a), Grace Mitchell (1g), Natalie O'Neill (1g), Zoe Ryan (1g), and Lily Schmalz (1g) close out the scoring with one point each.Defensively, the Midshipmen have held their opponents to 8.38 goals per game. The Navy defense has held seven opponents – Villanova (5 goals), High Point (6 goals), South Florida (8 goals), Bucknell (6 goals), Holy Cross (3 goals), Lehigh (6 goals), and Boston University (5g) – to single-digit goals.The Mids have caused 116 of their opponents' 212 turnovers (54.7 percent). Jaclyn Johns, Yovino, Felicia Giglio, and Chung lead the team with 16, 15, 12, and 10 caused turnovers, correspondingly. Cain, DeFabio, Gage, Kennedy, and Miles are three back with seven apiece, while Schmalz and Jalin Jenkins are tied with six each.Giglio leads the team with 35 ground balls with Yovino following with 30 ground ball pickups. DeFabio and Johns have 21 apiece, while Gage adds 16. Cain (14), Chung (13), Kennedy (13), Jenkins (11), Schmalz (11), and Williams (10) close out Navy's double-digit ground balls.Giglio has played and started each game for Navy in the cage, working 739:35 minutes of action between the posts. The junior goalie has 86 of the Mids' 92 saves on the year with an 8.44 goals against average and 45.3 save percentage.Freshman goalkeeper Angelina Price has posted six saves in over under 39 minutes of action (38:55), while sophomore Lila Stachowski saw her first collegiate action against High Point, working the final 90 seconds at goal in the Mids' 14-6 victory.In the circle, Maura Murphy boasts a team-high 84 draw wins. The senior notched her first double-digit draw performance against High Point (14), while adding 11 draw wins against Lehigh. Against the Mountain Hawks, Murphy eclipsed the 100-draw plateau. Yovino follows with 46 draws, while Kennedy adds 20 draw wins and Williams has 13. Yovino recorded her 100th career draw against BU.Scouting the OppositionArmy enters the weekend with a 10-2 overall record, including a perfect 5-0 mark in the Patriot League. The Black Knights enter the game on a seven-game winning streak that includes a pair of ranked wins against #16 Loyola (W, 18-10) and #5 Yale).West Point is led by Allison Reilly and Brigid Duffy who boast 86 and 69 points, respectively. Duffy leads the team with 49 goals to go along with 20 of assists for 69 points, while Reilly has 33 goals and a team-best 53 assists for the team-leading 86 points. Lily Valentini (30g 8a), Chloe Garrett (17g 12a), and Ryan Remaly (17g 2a) round out Army's top-five-point scorers with 38, 29, and 19 points, in order.Duffy leads the team with 39 ground balls and 31 caused turnovers, while ranking third on the team with 45 draw controls. Ellie Nawa leads the team with 49 draws with Sarah Chernik adding 47 draw wins.Lindsey Serafine has played and started all 12 games for the Black Knights this season. She has recorded 83 saves with 110 goals allowed in 698:33 minutes of work for a 43.0 save percentage and a 9.45 goals against average.Up NextFollowing the game, Navy hits the road for a pair of Patriot League games. The Midshipmen travel to Easton, Pa. to take on Lafayette on Wednesday, April 15 (6:30 p.m.) before making the trip to Hamilton, N.Y. to play Colgate on Saturday, April 18 (11:00 a.m.).
