Arthur Fils vs Rafael Jodar prediction

Arthur Fils made his return from injury at Wimbledon, having not featured since retiring at the Italian Open in early May. He won his first match in style, defeating Raphael Collignon in straight sets. However, he then lost to Matteo Berrettini in four sets on Centre Court. Fils shone earlier in the season, winning the Barcelona Open and progressing to the semi-finals in Miami and Madrid.

His first-round opponent is Rafael Jodar. The young Spaniard competed in his first ever tournament on grass at Wimbledon, winning his first two matches to reach the third-round. However, despite comfortably taking the first set, he lost in four to Shintaro Mochizuki. It’s still been a brilliant debut campaign for Jodar on the ATP Tour, and he is close to breaking into the top 20 of the world rankings.

They met for the first time earlier this year, with Fils coming from a set down to beat Jodar at the semi-final stage in Barcelona. This has the makings of another close encounter.
