Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 stars set for HSBC SVNS return in Dubai as Emirates Dubai 7s match schedule revealed

Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 stars will light up the Emirates Dubai 7s this November, with a number of players from the record-breaking event returning to HSBC SVNS action as the pools and match schedule are revealed for the season opener.

The 2025 Emirates Dubai 7s takes place from 28-30 November at The Sevens Stadium, kicking off the new HSBC SVNS Series and coinciding with the UAE National Day holiday weekend.

The reimagined HSBC SVNS comprises six regular season events each featuring eight women’s and eight men’s teams, competing across two competition days, meaning more best v best matches, building all the way to the finals at each event. After the six regular season events, three blockbuster SVNS World Championship Series events will see the top 12 men’s and women’s teams compete for the world champions title (the eight from Division 1, plus four from Division 2).

The women’s competition boasts Olympic champions New Zealand, reigning Dubai champions Australia, while teams will be stacked with some of the sport’s biggest names.

Day one opens with a mouthwatering clash between New Zealand and France at 10:58 (all times local, GMT+4), while Australia begin their title defence against Japan at 11:42. Other highlights include Fiji v France (13:59) and a much-anticipated Australia v Great Britain showdown (18:11).

In the men’s tournament, the “pool of champions” sees Fiji, Argentina, France and South Africa drawn together in a blockbuster Pool A. The opening round includes Fiji v Argentina (13:10) and South Africa v France (13:32), before a heavyweight double header featuring New Zealand v Australia (15:54) and Fiji v South Africa (16:16).

World Rugby Chief Executive Alan Gilpin said: “The HSBC SVNS is back! Dubai is the perfect kick-off for the new-look series, featuring the world’s top teams, the biggest stars and more best v best matches over two competition days. With a runway through to the LA 2028 Olympic Games, some of the biggest stars who shone brightly at Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 will be in action, bringing fans even closer to the personalities who inspired a new fanbase for the sport.”

Festival Director Mathew Tait added: “With so many Women’s Rugby World Cup stars returning to the HSBC SVNS stage, this year’s Emirates Dubai 7s will be a showcase of world-class talent. Dubai sets the tone for the global series, and fans can expect thrilling matches, incredible music, and an electric atmosphere.”

Beyond the elite action, Emirates Dubai 7s remains the Middle East’s largest sports and entertainment festival, featuring cricket presented by Dulsco Group, netball presented by Dubai Holding Community Management, Rebound Padel, and the WODON3 fitness competition – which debuts a new ‘Super Social’ category.

Off the pitch, the weekend’s music line-up features Tinie Tempah, Sean Paul, and Shaggy on Saturday, with superstar DJs EZ and FISHER closing the festival on Sunday.
