The Asia Cup trophy controversy continues to unfold as the trophy has been moved from the Asian Cricket Council headquarters to an undisclosed location in Abu Dhabi. The dispute began when India refused to accept the trophy from Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan's interior minister and Pakistan Cricket Board head, following their five-wicket victory over Pakistan in Dubai on September 28, amid cross-border tensions between the two nations. The post-match presentation was delayed by 90 minutes after India's victory, with an official removing the trophy from the raised dais without explanation.

Inside details of how PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi ran away with the Asia Cup trophy!

A BCCI official's recent visit to the ACC headquarters revealed the trophy's relocation. When inquiring about its whereabouts, the staff informed that it was in Mohsin Naqvi's custody in Abu Dhabi. "A BCCI official visited ACC headquarters a few days back. When he inquired about the trophy in the ACC office, the staff told him that it has been removed from here and is in the custody of Moshin Naqvi in some place in Abu Dhabi," an ANI source revealed. At the start of October, Naqvi set conditions for the trophy's return, stating that if India genuinely wanted it, they should collect it from him at the ACC office. He later proposed hosting a ceremony to present the Asia Cup 2025 trophy to India. Following BCCI's formal letter requesting the trophy handover, Naqvi maintained his position, insisting that an Indian player attend a ceremony to receive the trophy from him. An ACC meeting was held in late September to address the situation. While reports suggested that Naqvi had apologised to the BCCI for the post-final chaos, he later denied these claims. No formal decision was reached during the ACC meeting regarding the trophy's handover to India, leaving the situation unresolved.
