Pies welcome back Goldsack

Collingwood is pleased to welcome back 2010 AFL Premiership player Tyson Goldsack to the Club as an assistant coach.

A fan-favourite, Goldsack returns to the black and white after six years at Port Adelaide, most recently serving as an assistant coach, overseeing the side’s defence.

The defender joined Port Adelaide as a development coach and SANFL player after he retired from Collingwood in 2019.

Goldsack was then listed as an AFL rookie by the Power for the 2021 season. While he didn’t feature at AFL level, he played an important role in developing the Club’s young talent.

Following his retirement from Port Adelaide, Goldsack worked as a development coach in 2022 and then, in 2023, took the reins of Power's SANFL side as senior coach, in addition to his development role.

For the past two seasons, Goldsack has served as an assistant coach under Ken Hinkley.

Before making the switch to the Power, Goldsack played 13 seasons and 165 games for Collingwood.

EGM of Football Charlie Gardiner welcomed Goldsack back to the Magpies.

“We are excited to have Tyson return to the Club as an assistant coach. He is an outstanding person who has done a great apprenticeship at Port Adelaide over the past six years,” Gardiner said.

“He is quickly developing a reputation as an excellent young coach and with a strong development background, he will be a terrific addition to our coaching group.

“We look forward to welcoming Goldy, his partner Chelsea and their children Harriet and Cleo back to the Club.”

Goldsack will commence at the Club when the AFL program returns for pre-season training in November.
