It was another one of those nights where very little went right for Tottenham or their interim boss Igor Tudor.

It all looked so good when Dominic Solanke opened the scoring but Micky van de Ven's red card and three quickfire Crystal Palace goals ended all that and it was pretty toxic at the end, with what appeared to be scuffles in the stands.

'I believe more than I did before this game'

Tottenham boss Igor Tudor, speaking to TNT Sports: "It was two games. After the red card, it was a second game. The second half we tried and I saw interesting things but I'm very disappointed like the fans.

"We need to work hard and believe. After this game, I believe more than I did before. I know that sounds strange but I saw something in the team. Even in the dressing room after the game. When we are complete, and choose the right guys, I believe it will be good."

What signs have you seen? "I saw some good energy, some wish to do, some more passion. The fight was there but unfortunately the red card changed the game. There is nine games to play. [Cristian] Romero is coming back, [Kevin] Danso was good today, [Pedro] Porro is totally different, maybe others will come back. We will be good when we are complete."

Did pressure on Van de Ven cause red card? "We need to stop talking about pressure. This is not a topic to speak about. I will not speak anymore about pressure."

'It is a moment but it will pass'

Tottenham boss Igor Tudor, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: “We are disappointed we lose. The red card changed the game. Then we conceded two or three fast goals. In the second half we tried. We wanted some good energy, I saw something to make me believe we can do it and I am sure we will do.

“The game plan was to believe when we are attacking that we are going to score a goal otherwise you cannot stay defending with one player [less] and unfortunately it was not enough.

“After this game I believe more than before. I know it is not easy. It is a moment but it will pass. It will pass. The message I said to them [the players] is not [for the] public."

On Micky van de Ven’s red card: “I haven’t seen it yet. The referee decided it was red."

'I loved the reaction after we conceded'

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It was a satisfying evening, especially with the result and the first half performance. I wasn't very pleased with the second half, we didn't control the game in the way we wanted with one extra player. We gave them too many set plays and dangerous opportunities around the box, but these things can happen.

"What I loved most is the reaction after we conceded the goal; it was great coming back scoring fantastic goals. But we also have to be critical that we could have done better in the second half. This is what we will work on now, consistency over the full game."

Was the drop in the second half a mental thing? "It shouldn't come into it. You can control the game in posession, but you need to be sharp out of posession and we are not sharp enough. We have to put more pressure on the ball and be more sharp on second balls. This is what we can improve."

On the offside goal ruled out: "I have seen the line, I think it was the forehead or the nose. Of course you can score a goal with the nose. I have seen a few very tight decisions, but today it didn't matter."

On Adam Wharton: "We know that he has a great pass and has great orientation. For me, the best goal was the second; we lost the ball on the edge of the box but we were really sharp with our counterpressing. It is always a team effort."

"Adam is coming closer and closer to his first Premier League goal, he had a big finish after 30 seconds, but his assists are nice."

On Daniel Munoz: "It is a shoulder injury. Right now his arm is in a brace. Let's hope it's not too bad."

'We're not in a position to make any excuses anymore'

Tottenham forward Dominic Solanke, speaking to TNT Sports: "We've just had a big conversation. We know the position we are in is definitely not where we want to be so we need to figure out how we are going to get out of it as soon as possible.

"We know there's been difficulties but we're not in a position to make any excuses anymore. We need to do the job on the pitch. It is easy to say we want to be better but we want to be better on the pitch.

"We need to fight and realise the position we are in. We know the club is not used to being in this position so we need to understand it and understand it's not going to be easy and we need to fight every single game, every single minute, to make sure we improve."

'What is Tudor meant to do?'

Tottenham have not got many games left, but they need to find a concoction and some understanding to go get some results over the line.

There just seems to be a lack of understanding of what the manager wants. When we ask questions of the manager – what is Igor Tudor meant to do in three games?

It is ridiculous to think of them sacking him after three games after seeing what the players have ultimately produced.

This is the same group and sacking the manager after three games is an admission that he was the wrong man in the first place.

'We are going in the right direction

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner speaking, to TNT Sports: "I am very happy with the first-half performance. Even before we conceded the goal we played well and then I really loved the reaction because it was only one or two minutes before with the disallowed goal. It was a very tight offside decision.

"The reaction was great, scoring three goals before half-time and controlling the game. It was really nice to watch but we have to be self-critical. In the second half we did not control the game how we wanted to.

"We gave them too many set plays around the box. We were talking about it at half-time and we lost a little bit of aggression out of possession. We passed the ball and passed the ball but were not sharp enough on secon balls because they went long.

"In the last weeks I was asked about relegation and now it's Europe. We will focus now on gaining momentum. We are going in the right direction and are back on track."

On Daniel Munoz's injury: "He is now in a shoulder brace. We will do a further assessment and hopefully it is not too bad."

On Jorgen Strand Larsen, Ismaila Sarr and link-up play: "For me the second goal,Evann Guessand had a huge impact. It was an amazing counter press. Adam [Wharton] gets the ball, has the quality from the pass...great run from Jorgen and we score."

'The wheels just come off'

Micky van de Ven felt as though he could get away with a tug there and, unfortunately, he couldn't. If you asked Micky van de Ven now, and he had his time again, he would probably leave Sarr alone.

The wheels just come off. The damage was done then in stoppage time. Conceding two goals in that situation.

Tudor brought two players on and he reshuffled his pack. Whether they fully understood what the manager wanted and the formation he wanted them to play in at that moment, I am not entirely sure.

To concede two goals in that manner at that time in the game was a crucial moment in the game.

Spurs 'need to be united' during relegation scrap

I mean let's not get carried away, it is only one fixture that is a loss. A game they had the opportunity to win, a game they would have loved to win.

There are huge games coming up, and the next one is against Liverpool, then a bigger one against Forest.

That is a huge fixture. It is at home, and they need the fans to be onboard, regardless of the situation.

The club needs to be united pulling in one direction to starve off possible relegation.

'We have a good chance of climbing the table'

Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton, speaking to TNT Sports: "I thought it went a llittle bit far [his second assist], but it was good that [Ismaila] Sarr was on the end of it because he is very quick. Great to get it and three points is massive.

"We have been on a good run of scoring in consecutive games recently, the gaffer has been mentioning it. We had a sticky patch when goals weren't coming and now they are starting to come. It's great for the attackers, it gives them confidence."

On the prospect of European qualificaiton again: "The target is to aim as high as possible, the gaffer has been saying it. The league is crazy this year, if we take each game as it comes we have a good chance of climbing the table.

"There is a lot of room for improvement [in my game] and I'm the first to critique myself. It's never going to be perfect, I'm just trying to work hard every day with the gaffer and with my team to keep improving."
