Turkish journalist claims Tyrell Malacia is nearing deal with Super Lig side before transfer deadline

Tyrell Malacia could leave Manchester United before the Turkish transfer window closes on Friday.

While most of Europe has wrapped up its transfer business since September 1, football clubs in certain countries can still conduct deals. That applies to football clubs in Turkey, Greece and Saudi Arabia.

Manchester United had a busy summer, signing five players and getting rid of multiple players deemed surplus to requirements under Ruben Amorim.

The Red Devils could still offload players, with Andre Onana on the verge of joining Super Lig outfit Trabzonspor on loan for the rest of the season.

It remains to be seen if any players currently at United will join Onana in Turkey ahead of a World Cup year, with players eager to earn call-ups for their national team.

Eyüpspor reach agreement with Man Utd for Tyrell Malacia

Another player with an uncertain future at United is Tyrell Malacia.

The 26-year-old moved to Old Trafford from Feyenoord in 2022, but injuries stalled his development, and it doesn’t look like the Netherlands international is part of Amorim’s plans.

Malacia fell down the pecking order at United following the arrival of Patrick Dorgu and Diego Leon. Amorim can also utilise Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui on the left rather than play Malacia.

That means Malacia needs to find a new club if he wants to play regular football.

La Liga outfit Elche were keen to sign Malacia towards the end of the transfer window, but a deal didn’t materialise.

Super Lig outfit Eyüpspor have since joined the race for Malacia’s signature.

Now, Turkish journalist Resat Can Ozbudak claims Malacia is a step closer to departing Old Trafford, with Eyüpspor reaching an agreement for a loan deal.

Eyüpspor are currently 10th in the Super Lig, and they are lacking cover at left-back, which means Malacia at least has a chance to resurrect his career.

The move relies on Malacia’s willingness to join the Turkish side.

Ineos trying to clear out Erik ten Hag flops

United are still paying the price for poor recruitment during Erik ten Hag’s reign in charge.

That’s why Ineos are working hard to get rid of players after joining the club during that time, with a few of them earning the label ‘flop’.

Examples of that include Antony, Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund.

It’s only a matter of time before United get rid of Onana and Malacia.
