Latest Liverpool news as deadline day signing Alexander Isak arrives at the AXA Training Centre following the international break

Liverpool's latest signing Alexander Isak has officially arrived at the AXA Training Centre following the international break. It means the striker has now joined up with Arne Slot and his new teammates for the first time.

The Reds' summer interest in Isak amounted to a British-record £125m move taking place nine days ago, on transfer deadline day. The 25-year-old immediately jetted off afterwards to join up with the Sweden national team for the September international break, and he was able to play his first 18 minutes of football in the 2025/26 campaign.

Now the break is coming to an end players are beginning to return to their clubs or, as in Isak's case, become freshly acquainted with their new surroundings and colleagues.

Liverpool posted the first images of Isak entering the AXA Training Centre on social media on Wednesday morning, showing the new signing ready to embark on this new stage of his career.

A follow-up post showed Stefan Bajcetic and Freddie Woodman back in the building following the break, with Liverpool's stars who have been on international duty this month set to be making a return over the coming days. Isak was also shown being greeted by Slot's lead physical performance coach, Reuben Peeters.

The Premier League leaders have a trip to newly-promoted Burnley booked in for this coming Sunday. Isak could be given the chance to make his first appearance in the new 2025/26 third kit, though he himself was the first to admit his lack of match fitness could come in the way of this hope.

"Yeah, of course," Isak responded when asked by club media on signing day if he's aiming to make his bow in the game at Turf Moor.

However, hinting at a possible delay to his debut, he added: "I think that's the ambition. However, I've had a tricky summer where I haven't played any games and I've had restricted training, so I think that's one to judge and to analyse where I am at and how much I am ready to give. But I certainly want to play as soon as possible."

Supporters may be disappointed if their new £125m man misses out, but at least they won't have to wait long for the next opportunity. Slot's men open their Champions League campaign against Atletico Madrid at Anfield three days later, then another three days after that is the first Merseyside derby of the season against Everton at Anfield.
