England v Brazil: What happened when they lsat met?

The most recent meeting between these respective champions came two years ago in front of a roaring Wembley crowed.

It was the first ever women’s Finalissima—a super cup that brings together the European and Copa America winners.

Following Ella Toone’s first-half opener, Andressa Alves popped up late in stoppage time to level the score and keep Brazilian dreams alive.

A final score of 1-1 marks the only draw contested between the two to date.

In need of a winner, however, the game was ultimately settled on penalties when a signature Chloe Kelly spot kick proved decisive for Sarina Wiegman’s side.

England v Brazil head-to-head: Lionesses narrowly edge it

These nations share a short yet storied history, with just four games played out between them in the last seven years.

Their first meeting came in 2018, when Fran Kirby’s lone strike was the decider in a 1-0 England victory.

A year later, the Lionesses clinched a 2-1 win in February, followed by a 2-1 win for Brazil in October of the same year.

Saturday will be their first outing since 2023. Despite the stakes not being as high this time, expect no inch to be given by either side.
