Tartan Army give Sebastien Pocognoli cautious welcome after first Scotland game

It is fair to say a slight majority of respondents were enthused by what they saw at Ljubljana's Stadion Stozice, mainly by the second-half display...

Craig: First Scotland game in years where I haven't had palpitations. I loved the energy in second half. We may not have scored but the new formation and attacking focus was excellent. Let's build from here.

George: First half, bit worrying. Second half, different class. Positive. Quality. Solid in defence (keeper could've been sat on a deckchair). Finishing needs a wee polish but there are positive signs there too. Fingers crossed after a positive start under the new boss.

Rosh: It was practically two different performances in one game. First half, we were very poor and struggled to string two passes together. However, the second half was like a totally different Scotland team. Slovenia could barely get out of their own half. Overall pleased with the performance in the second half but taking our opportunities continues to be our Achilles heel.

Derek: Don't want to disparage Steve Clarke but would rather lose playing like that than what Stevie was serving up. Football with the fear of losing is not what the fans like. But, having said that, I have to admit it was great getting to the World Cup.

Stuart: This Scotland team has to be built around [Billy] Gilmour and [Lewis] Ferguson. [Robbie] Ure looks good and deserves a run of matches to prove it. Back three a bit shaky but a new system of positive play will take time to adapt to. Overall, a positive display.

Archie: Disappointing not to get off the mark with a win. But sufficiently positive for our first game after five days with our new manager.

Lindsey: Feeling positive. I think we're moving in the right direction. Gilmour was outstanding and I think he inspired others around him. After a nervy (same old) start, the team began to build some self-belief and hopefully that can be continued at Hampden on Tuesday night.

Shuggie: Massive difference between the halves. We seemed half asleep, dithering through the first half but all over them like a rash in the second. Promising but really disappointing not to win. Gilmour was superb.

Mark: Poor first half but this is a team starting to adapt to a new manager and system. Second half was far better, so encouraged about how things will progress. Given time, I think this manager will get things right.

Simon: A lot to like in that second half. Chances made - taking them is the challenge and that isn't a new problem. Midfield used the ball well in possession and were competitive on winning the ball back.

Colin: Nice to see the new manager changing things around as the squad needed freshening up. Our defence has lacked pace and relied on too many players out of form. Picking players that are actually playing weekly will help. New attacking options were needed, so hopefully these new players will step up. Let's give them and the manager a chance.
