JJ Redick shares promising Luka Doncic return update from Europe trip

The quest to reach the 2026 NBA championship begins for the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday, as they will face the Houston Rockets in Game 1 of their first-round series.

As such, the Lakers couldn't ask for a much better situation before starting their potential title run this year by having Luka Doncic on their side.

After traveling to Europe to seek medical treatment to speed up his recovery from his Grade 2 left hamstring strain, Doncic has landed back in LA to rejoin the Lakers.

In his pregame press conference, JJ Redick offered a promising update after seeing the Slovenian superstar again.

"Well, we haven’t seen him," the Lakers coach initially joked.

"I talked to him yesterday when he landed. He’s in good spirits, and we’re excited to see him today."

As it is, Doncic went to Spain for specialized medical treatment for his hamstring injury. He then went viral and was seen courtside at a Real Madrid EuroLeague game alongside tennis legend Novak Djokovic.

Right now, as they aim to hold the line to keep their title hopes alive, the Lakers hope nothing but the best for Doncic's full recovery to return at the earliest possible time this postseason.
