Vikings 0-for-4 in the red zone

Another FG for the Vikings after they get inside the Eagles 20. Cooper DeJean with another good play in the red zone as Carson Wentz is 4 of 9 for 34 yards and a sack in the red zone. Moro Ojomo with the third-down sack to stall the potential go-ahead drive.

Eagles up 21-19.

Eagles take the ball out of Hurts hands

Eagles to a 3rd-and-5 run to Saquon Barkley, and he gets no gain. May have lost a half yard. Jake Elliott kicks a 42-yard FG and misses teh attempt. The Eagles were on the Vikings' 23 and didn't put the ball in Hurts' hands.

Not a great play call by Kevin Patullo. Lead stays at 21-16 with Vikings driving.

Was it a TD?

Jordan Mason took the wildcat snap and ran to his left. Zack Baun and Andrew Mukuba appeared to have stopped him short on 2nd down, but the ball crossed the plane. It's controversial, and the plane is a silly element of football but the top appeared to cross it. TD Vikings.

Jalen Hurts bomb to DeVonta Smith -- TD Eagles

Hurts winded up and threw a perfect deep ball to DeVonta Smith -- who took the deep ball 79 yards for the TD. That was the longest TD pass of Hurts's career and the longest TD catch of Smith's career.

Hurts on passes of 25+ air yards -- 2-of-2, 116 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT, 158.3 rating. The Vikings have given up just 3 completions of 25+ air yards all seaosn. Eagles up 21-6.

Carson Wentz is the gift that keeps on giving for the Eagles

The Vikings drove to the Eagles 9-yard line before Wentz decided to Wentz it up. Wentz didn't see his running back open on a Spider 2 Y Banana play, and somehow held onto the ball. Play would have likely been a TD, but Wentz threw the ball into the ground -- leading to intentional grounding.

Vikings kick another FG. 0-for-3 in red zone as they trail 14-9.

Halftime in Minnesota

The Eagles are struggling to move the ball, and Carson Wentz's 2 INT is a huge reason why they're ahead. It's 14-6, but Minnesota is in this one.

The Vikings defense is starting to take over the game.

Eagles offense is offensive again

Since the opening drive TD, the Eagles have run nine plays for 23 yards -- all resulting in a 3-and-out. The Eagles have 8 net yards since the Jalen Hurts 37-yard TD to A.J. Brown.

This has been common under Kevin Patullo this season. The Eagles have 3 consecutive drives that have resulted in 3-and-out in 4 of the last 5 games.

Cooper DeJean takes a TD away from Justin Jefferson

On 2nd-and-goal, Carson Wentz threw a good pass to Justin Jefferson -- but DeJean fought for the ball and broke it up. The Vikings went for it on 4th-and-goal, as Wentz found Jalen Nailor for the TD -- but a holding penalty on center Blake Brandel nullifies the score. Vikings kick a FG and it's 14-6 Eagles.

Again, another missed opportunity -- but an excellent play by DeJean.

Yep, 2020 Wentz is back

One INT returned for touchdown seemed to have rattled Wentz. He threw an INT returned for a touchdown, the proceeds to throw a backwards pass out of bounds then throws a bomb to a wide open Andrew Mukuba for the INT.

This is the stuff Wentz did his final year with the Eagles. Bad decisions and putting his offense into an even deeper hole.

The 2020 version of Carson Wentz has reemerged

Wentz didn't see Jalen Carter coming up the A-gap on a delayed pressure and threw the pass light into Jalyx Hunt's hands for the TD. Wentz was looking for Justin Jefferson, but he couldn't get the ball out quick enough to him. he never saw Carter coming, similar to his final days in Philadelphia when he couldn't process the pass rush quick enough.

Eagles up 14-3 after the Hunt 42-yard INT return for the score.

Could the Vikings have found a way to contain the "tush push?"

The Vikings lined up on an interesting formation on the Eagles first drive, having two players line up over a linebacker Tyler Batty who is down in the A-gap. The Eagles got a false start on the second try. Perhaps the Batty thing works, a steh Eagles are 1-for-2 on the "Tush Push" today -- and barely got teh first one.

Incomplete pass to DeVonta Smith on third down leads to an Eagles punt. The Vikings may have found something.

Vikings gets FG -- but waste a golden opportunity

Carson Wentz loses a snap on 3rd-and-10 and was fortunate to get the ball back. Vikings had a 1st-and-10 on Eagles 19 and went incomplete, incomplete, fumble. A promising drive ends ina 59-yard FG by Will Reichard, a bail out for the error.

Vikings score on their opening possession too. Eagles up 7-3.

Eagles offense looked good on opening drive -- A.J. Brown TD

Jalen Hurts on that opening drive

3-of-3. 40 yards, 158.3 passer rating -- finds Brown for a 37-yard TD as Vikings dropped eight back in coverage. Hurts had all day to throw and literally pointed to an open Brown.

Saquon Barkley on that opening drive

5 carries, 24 yards. Eagles had 35 rushing yards on drive, even used Tank Bigsby for an 11-yard rush on that drive.

Eagles offense looked good on that drive. Can they keep it up?

Is this the week Saquon Barkley returns?

Barkley has averaged 4.9 YPC over his last two games, but the Eagles have to commit to the run more. They know the run game needs to get going if they are going to get the offense back on track.

Jordan Mailata on getting the offense back to form:

"My attention moving forward is being the aggressor, be the plays I've always been, and that's how I can help this team out. As a whole I didn't think much of it. I kind of took the time to really think about how each of us can dominate our box and do our job then the rest will take care of itself. That's kind of the message I've been saying to our group. If we're in the gym, let's get a good workout in, let's put the work in. If we're on the field, let's get that work in and dominate. Just dominate our box."

One solution to the Eagles edge rusher issues

Jihaad Campbell is lining up on the edge while Nakobe Dean is with Zack Baun at LB on the first team. There's a solution going forward.

Campbell this week on what he can provide to the pass rush:

"I can provide a lot of different things. A lot of things that the team requires. That's just...there's no individual contractors in our rush game right? We all play as a whole. We all play as a team. Every time we see a tackle, we all see 11 hats around to the ball....Whatever that is required for the defense, I'm willing to do every time."

Is Brandon Graham returning?

There has been conversations about Brandon Graham coming out of retirement and returning to the Eagles, who are incredibly thin at edge rusher. Right now, the Eagles have Nolan Smith on IR, Jalyx Hunt, Patrick Johnson, Josh Uche, and Azeez Ojulari. They could use any help they can get.

Still need to add a pass rusher at the deadline.

Carson Wentz will start as JJ McCarthy is out. No Andrew Van Ginkel. Brian O'Neill is good to go.
