Netherlands 0-0 Morocco

Crysencio Summerville gets in down the right and almost plays in Brian Brobbey for the opener. But the ball doesn't fall for the striker and it wouldn't have counted anyway, as the offside flag goes up.

'Netherlands dominating'

The game hasn't got going yet. Netherlands are dominating, Morocco haven't quite got into their stride yet.

I feel like it's going to explode any minute.

Netherlands 0-0 Morocco

Every time Morocco get the ball the Dutch get everyone behind the ball and sit in. The Netherlands have been quite physical so far and are playing very direct football, when they get possession.

Brian Brobbey is playing like an old-fashioned target man. It's more in the mould of John Fashanu than Marco van Basten but he is pinning his marker and making it so hard to play against him.

'Morocco haven't had possession to get into it yet'

Morocco haven't started yet but they need to get up the pitch. Hakimi is being really disciplined, staying in his shape. He's one of the full-backs who loves to get up the pitch. They haven't had the possession at the moment to get into this game.

Another ball down the channel for Brian Brobbey ends up in a Netherlands corner but a posse of Morocco defenders deal with the ball into the near post and clear.

Jan Paul van Hecke launches the ball forward from the back in the direction of Brian Brobbey.

That doesn't really feel like a typical thing for a Netherlands player to do.

Will we be going the distance?

Netherlands v Morocco (02:00 BST)

If you're hoping for an early (or at least less late) night/morning, then beware...

Netherlands have progressed from seven of their past 10 World Cup knockout round games since 2010, but three of their past five have gone to penalties.

Their last was a 4-3 loss on spot-kicks to eventual winners Argentina after an epic 2022 quarter-final.

Staying up late in the UK?

The teams are out and it is national anthem time. Apparently it is about 28°C at the Monterrey Stadium at present.

Definitely the sort of weather where you'd rather be watching than playing.

The Netherlands have been one of the most free-scoring teams here in North America, their 10 goals in the group stage joint with France and Germany as the highest for any team.

This matches 2014 as their highest number in a World Cup group.
