2025 French Open champion and world No. 2 tennis player Coco Gauff will not be part of the U.S. team at September’s Billie Jean King Cup, set for Shenzhen in the People’s Republic of China.Instead, according to a press release from the USTA and Billie Jean King Cup captain Lindsay Davenport, the squad will be led by world No. 4 Jessica Pegula and 2025 Australian Open champion Madison Keys.Emma Navarro, Hailey Baptiste and Taylor Townsend round out the American team.“Billie Jean King Cup is the World Cup of Women’s Tennis, and the Finals — an eight-nation, knockout-style bracket — will crown this year’s champion,” according to the release.The U.S. will get its competition underway on 18 September, facing off with Kazakhstan. The winner of that duel will see either Great Britain or Japan.Team USA has dominated the event, winning it 18 times.
