The GCU Men's Tennis team completed two 4-0 victories Saturday against the Portland State Vikings. Nearing the final three home matches of the season, the Lopes look to remain undefeated on the season at the GCU Tennis Facility.GCU made quick work of the Vikings as they finished both of their matches in just under two hours.Sophomore Daniel Jankoski and junior Brice Patoux also set a single season record for most doubles wins in a season, with 19 as a team.The first match started with GCU getting the doubles point as Jankoski and Patoux picked up their 18th doubles win. On Court 2, sophomore duo Tristan Berard and Andreas Loizas clinched the win for the Lopes winning 6-3 over the Vikings.Over in singles play Berard got the point started for the Lopes winning 6-2 in the first set, Aarjun Pandit of Portland State was forced to retire after an injury giving the point to the Lopes.Loizas then went to battle against Maas Schotanus on Court 2 taking the first set 6-3 before sweeping him in the second set 6-0.Patoux finished the job taking the victory 6-1, 6-2 over on Court 6, where he has been undefeated in three matches.After a couple hour long break, the Lopes were back for their second match of the day.In doubles play, GCU switched up the order playing Loizas and Berard at Court 1 and Patoux and Jankoski at Court 2.Berard and Loizas got their first win of the season on Court 1 as they took down Edoardo Cravanzola and Maas Schotanus 6-3.Junior Charlie Pade and Tim Hohmann completed the Doubles clinch for the Lopes as they controlled their court winning 6-1. With this win the pair is undefeated on the season since playing together five games ago.Over in singles Loizas got his second win of the day defeating Luca Prino 6-1, 6-1. With this victory it brings him to 6-4 in his last 10 matches.Freshman Heremana Courte showed out for GCU as he got his second singles victory of the season. The New Caledonia native got the job done in two sets 6-1, 6-1.
