Coco Gauff vs Elina Svitolina, Australian Open 2026 quarter-finals: Head-to-head, match schedule, and where to watch live

Coco Gauff and Elina Svitolina will meet this Tuesday (27 January) in the 2026 Australian Open quarter-finals.

No. 3 seed and reigning Roland-Garros champion Gauff is into her third consecutive quarter-final at Melbourne Park, where she is also chasing the third Grand Slam singles tennis title of her career to kickstart the 2026 season.

The USA star takes on Olympic bronze medallist Svitolina, into the final eight for the fourth time here and hoping to make new ground by reaching the semi-finals. The Ukrainian has already eliminated two seeds, Diana Shnaider and Mirra Andreeva.

Gauff or Svitolina could advance to a semi-final showdown with top seed Aryna Sabalenka, who is in action against U.S. starlet Iva Jovic in the day session on Rod Laver Arena.

Australian Open 2026 quarter-final - Coco Gauff vs Elina Svitolina head-to-head record

Gauff leads 2-1 in the head-to-head record against Svitolina, with the 21-year-old’s triumphs coming on hard courts in 2024. On both occasions at the US Open and ASB Classic (WTA 250), Gauff came from behind to prevail in three sets.

Svitolina’s sole win did come at the Australian Open back in 2021, the then-fifth seed coming through in straight sets to knock out the U.S. teenager in the second round.

That was the only time that either player – in this case, Gauff – was unseeded in their previous meetings, now proving to be a battle between the third and 12th seeds in Australia.
