Toledo Falls in Close Battle at Cleveland State, 4

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Toledo men's tennis team fell in a close tilt to Cleveland State, 4-3, on Monday afternoon in Cleveland, Ohio.

Cleveland State picked up the doubles point after earning wins on the No. 1 and No. 2 courts. Toledo's freshman duo of AJ Sidoti and Pannawat Suttisomboon were leading on the No. 3 court, 6-5, before the match was abandoned.

In singles play, junior Charlie Snow got the Rockets on the board first, 2-1, with a straight-set victory over Cole Chappell on the No. 5 court. Senior Lucas Britez grabbed his first victory of the dual season with a 7-5, 6-2 win on the No. 3 court to keep the Rockets within striking distance, 3-2.

The Vikings clinched match point with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-2) win on the No. 2 singles court. Junior Poonthong Komolpisut closed out the match earning his first victory of the 2026 season with a straight set win on the No. 1 singles court over Lincoln Battle.

Toledo hosts its first two home matches of the season on Friday, Jan. 23 at Shadow Valley. Action against Tiffin will begin at 1:00 p.m. and the Rockets will conclude the day against Findlay at 7:00 p.m.
