India vs Australia LIVE: Rain starts

Right then, rain appears to have begun at The Gabba. Australia legend Matthew Hayden, on commentary, states that this should not be a particularly long delay. Let's hope for the same, because the first 5 overs of action seemed like a cracking game was in store.

India vs Australia LIVE: Valuable break for Australia?

We hope for the safety of all at the stadium, first and foremost. But, coming back to cricket, the weather delay could come as a welcome break for the hosts. Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill went simply berserk, and Australia did not help themselves by dropping two dollies. India have raced past 50, and there is still an over of the powerplay to go.

India vs Australia LIVE: Players, fans take shelter

The covers have been brought onto the pitch, as a precaution for possible rain. Meanwhile, all the players and support staff have been adviced to go indoors. Several supporters in the stands are also being asked to shift from the lower stands, which do not have a shelter, to the upper stands. Looks to be a severe lightning threat.

India vs Australia LIVE: Play stopped due to weather concerns

Play has been stopped at The Gabba. Commentators mention that the possible reason for the stoppage could be lightning at the venue. Rain is expected as well, but there's none as of now. We await further clarity regarding the situation.

IND 52/0 (4.5)

India vs Australia LIVE: World record for Abhishek, DROP, SIX!

Luck continues to favour Abhishek Sharma! The left-hander receives ANOTHER lifeline, that's the second sitter dropped today by Australia. Ben Dwarshuis has put down a dolly. He really isn't having a good day.

Abhishek reaches 1,000 T20I runs, registering the record for becoming the fastest to do so in terms of balls faced. He has done so in just 528 balls, beating Suryakumar Yadav's previous record of 573.

Abhishek then smashes a maximum over mid-wicket on the final ball of the 4th over, punishing Australia for their dropped catches.

IND 47/0 (4)

India vs Australia LIVE: 4, 4, 4, 4! GILL!

Terrific batting from Shubman Gill! There have been criticism regarding his strike rate, but he has come out of the blocks in some style today. He slams Ben Dwarshuis to all parts of the ground, and for 4 boundaries in a single over!

IND 35/0 (3)

Ind vs Aus, 5th T20I Live: FOUR

FOUR! Shubman Gill hits a brilliant boundary off Xavier Bartlett's delivery. A good length delivery, Gill comfortably makes room and flat-bats it hard through extra cover as the ball races across the boundary line for four.

IND 19/0 (2 overs)

Ind vs Aus, 5th T20I Live: DROP! Abhishek high on luck

WOAH!! What an over for India as opener Abhishek Sharma survives twice in the opening over of Ben Dwarshius. On the second ball, Abhishek lofts a drive towards the cover but the ball falls down midway before reaching the fielder. On the fifth delivery, Abhishek mistimes a shot which goes up in the air. Glenn Maxwell, who was placed at the mid-off, ends up dropping a sitter. A frustrating moment for the Aussies.

IND 11/0 (1 over)

India vs Australia LIVE: Here's what SKY said at the toss

"Until you're winning the game and losing the toss, it's fine. Want to go out and express ourselves. Always good to understand what the team's goal is. All batters realised it wasn't a 200 wicket. All boxes ticked in the last game, just want to continue the same. Always good to win bilaterals. At the same time, what combination you want is more important. Other than openers, this is one format where everyone has to be flexible with batting positions. One change - Tilak is resting, Rinku comes in," said Suryakumar Yadav.

India vs Australia LIVE: Here's what Marsh said at the toss

"Going to bowl first. Looks a good surface, always great to come here and play at this great stadium. Certainly a chance to draw the series. Lots to play for. Both teams have played some great cricket. Was bit of an indifferent surface. India bowled superbly. Different conditions tonight. No changes," said Mitchell Marsh.

India vs Australia LIVE: Australia win toss, opt to bowl!

Australia skipper Mitchell Marsh wins the toss and opts to bowl against India in the fifth and final T20I of the five-match series on Saturday in Brisbane.

India vs Australia LIVE: Pitch report

"There are some cracks in the middle, will be some help for the new ball bowlers. Pitch is hard and there's even grass," reckons Parthiv Patel.

India vs Australia LIVE: Pressure on Jitesh

The pressure will also be on wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma, who has featured ahead of Sanju Samson in the last two games but is yet to make a substantial impact. Tilak Varma is another batter who is yet to find his rhythm, managing scores of 0, 29, and 5 in his last three outings.

India vs Australia LIVE: The effective Arshdeep Singh

In the bowling department, Arshdeep Singh has once again proved his worth for India, picking up four wickets and forming an effective new-ball pairing with Jasprit Bumrah. The spin trio of Varun, Axar, and Washington has been a major strength for India despite the absence of Kuldeep Yadav. Both Shivam Dube and Washington have been instrumental with bat and ball.

India vs Australia LIVE: All eyes on SKY

India skipper Suryakumar Yadav has also shown flashes of brilliance across the series but has struggled to convert his starts. The captain would be expected to bat with more freedom and lead by example ahead of next month's South Africa.

India vs Australia LIVE: India's big win in 4th T20I

India registered a big 48-run victory over Australia in the fourth T20I and took 2-1 lead in the five-match series. Asked to bat first, India posted a total of 167/8 in 20 overs with Shubman Gill scoring 46. Later, Washington Sundar scalped three wickets while Axar Patel took two as India bundled out the Aussies for 119.

India vs Australia LIVE: Gill needs to fire

For vice-captain Shubman Gill, it has been seven innings without a fifty, though his 46 in the fourth T20 was a sign of his returning form. Gill has not quite displayed the fluent touch that has defined his batting in recent years. He looked composed in the last match before being undone by a slower ball. The opener will be eager to sign off on a high and ease concerns within the team management.

India vs Australia LIVE: Big challenge for both teams

The focus will be on Shubman Gill and skipper Suryakumar Yadav's batting, while Australia will look to counter India's spin challenge when the two sides clash for the last time ahead of next year's T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.

India vs Australia LIVE: India's excellent streak

With an unassailable 2-1 lead in the five-match series, India have extended their 17-year streak of not losing a T20I series in Australia and Suryakumar Yadav and Co. will look to finish strongly.
