Mikaeel Ali Baig storms into ITF J30 final

LAHORE - Paki­stan’s top seed Mikaeel Ali Baig booked his place in the ITF Paki­stan International J-30 Junior Tennis Championships 2025 (Leg-1) final after a thrilling three-set win over Japan’s Ippei Matsushima at the PTF-SDA Ten­nis Complex, Islamabad. After losing the opening set 2-6, Mi­kaeel bounced back strongly to claim the next two sets 6-4, 6-4, sealing a hard-fought victory. He will now face Kristijonas Milas­aukas of Lithuania, who defeated Timur Gordeev of Russia 6-3, 7-6(2), in the other semifinal. In doubles, Mikaeel and Gordeev advanced to the final, while in girls’ singles, Mingxi Qu, Zihan Feng, Yewon Lee, and Ecrin Lal Yavuz reached the semifinals af­ter convincing quarterfinal wins.
