NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Harvard men's tennis recorded an unblemished day at the ITA New England Regionals on Saturday, winning all 14 of its matches.Beginning atop the seeding, Benjamin Privara recorded a pair of straight-set wins, defeating both James Lian (Brown) and Theodoris Mitsakos (Buffalo) in convincing fashion. The sophomore dropped five and four games, respectively, in each match to advance to the quarterfinals.Valdemar Pape displayed a similar dominance, defeating Will Pellegrini (Bryant) 6-0, 7-5 and Jason Shuler (Yale), 6-3, 6-2.Melchior Delloye first lost just two games against Kabir Chhabria (Merrimack) before stealing a three-set battle in the round of 16 versus Rethin Pranav Senthil Kumar (Cornell). After falling 6-4 in the opening set, Delloye won the next two sets in 7-6 (5) and 6-3 decisions to advance in the draw.Masato Perera was the third Crimson player to record two straight-set victories on Saturday. First, the senior defeated Miguel Angel Machado (Bryant), 6-1, 7-5. Perera then followed with a 7-6 (4), 6-1 win over Zhengqing Ji (Yale).Nathan Blokhin recorded the final two-win day for the Crimson beginning with a gritty three-set (6-3, 1-6, 7-5) battle with Edward Liao (Yale). The first-year then advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating teammate Rohan Murali, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.Prior to falling against Blokhin, Murali defeated Robert Yang (Brown) with identical 6-3 decisions.In doubles, Harvard received wins from Perera/Delloye, Pape/Privara, and Murali/Kolos Kincses.
