Pakistan Test squad continued preparations for the upcoming two-match series against Bangladesh with a training session at Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium.

The opening Test is scheduled to begin on May 8 and will run through May 13.

Players took part in net sessions focusing on both batting and bowling under the supervision of the coaching staff. The squad also completed physical drills and fielding exercises aimed at improving fitness levels and sharpening on-field performance.

Meanwhile, top-order batter Babar Azam and pacer Khurram Shahzad, who recently played for Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League Season 11 Final, are set to join the national camp.

Babar Azam led Zalmi to their second PSL title, his first as captain, after defeating Hyderabad Kingsmen in the final on Sunday at Gaddafi Stadium.

The Test series is part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025–27 cycle. The second and final Test will be played at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium from May 16 to May 20.

Shan Masood will continue to lead the side. Four uncapped players, Abdullah Fazal, Amad Butt, Azan Awais, and Muhammad Ghazi Ghori, have received their first call-ups to the national squad.

Pakistan and Bangladesh have faced each other 15 times in Test cricket. Pakistan has won 12 matches, while Bangladesh has won two, with one match ending in a draw.
