Bruno Fernandes has reached out to Cole Palmer following Chelsea's impressive 3-1 victory over Wolves, where the forward bagged a stunning hat-trick. Palmer rediscovered his goal-scoring touch in what has been an injury-hit campaign thus far.

The 23-year-old netted all three goals for Chelsea during the opening 45 minutes at Molineux, showcasing the devastating impact he can have on proceedings. Throughout his debut campaign at Stamford Bridge, Palmer found the net 27 times across all competitions, secured numerous individual accolades, and cemented his place in the England squad.

His displays even triggered speculation about a potential move during the January transfer window, with rumours suggesting Manchester United were interested amid suggestions he was experiencing homesickness.

Whilst Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior refuted those claims, it's evident that people at United have been monitoring his development closely.

Fernandes appeared in the comments section of Palmer's Instagram post following the fixture, where the Chelsea ace uploaded several images from the match with the caption: "Just enjoy."

The Portuguese captain responded: "What a player," accompanied by a clapping emoji. His remark swiftly accumulated over 3,900 likes and hundreds of responses.

Some supporters playfully labelled him "agent Bruno," whilst another commented: "I see what you're doing here, mate."

Kobbie Mainoo and Marcus Rashford, presently on loan at Barcelona from United, also liked the post. Palmer has openly admitted to being a United supporter in his youth, despite honing his skills at the academy of their city rivals. He has also confessed to idolising United icon Wayne Rooney during his formative years.

As Palmer strives to regain his top form, Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior couldn't hide his pleasure. He said: "We know what a world-class player he is.

"He's played a lot of football over the last year with not much rest. When he's at his best, he's unstoppable. I'm delighted to be working with him."

However, post-match, Palmer addressed the recent rumours surrounding his future, telling the BBC: "Everyone loves to chat rubbish, don't they? I don't pay too much attention to it.

"You see things. But I feel like I've come from a strong place anyway so I don't pay attention to it."
