Maharashtra Tycoons, led by captain Carlos Brathwaite, started strong winning their opener against Rajasthan Lions, but it’s been tough since, three straight losses. They have shown they can post big totals with the bat, but their bowling has let them down badly, especially when defending. They lost in their previous match while chasing 143.

Despite the failure in the last match, batting has been decent overall. Veteran Shaun Marsh leads with 128 runs at a strike rate of 134.74, adding stability and reliability in the middle-order. Stuart Binny (113 runs) and Chris Gayle (109 runs) have played key knocks too. But Alastair Cook and Brathwaite have underperformed, which has hurt the team to start strong or end strong.
