National Games: Yogi Berra, Siobhan Haughey and an event on repeat, what to watch on day 5

0
In the supposed words of New York Yankees great Yogi Berra, Friday at the National Games is “like deja vu all over again”.

Siobhan Haughey is back chasing gold in the pool, although with the women’s 100m freestyle decided on Saturday, the furthest she can get is the semi-finals, and Hong Kong’s men are seeking glory in rugby sevens.

Gold must be won or lost at Kai Tak Stadium this evening, while the city’s women will look to end their tournament in fifth.

Tennis, track cycling, baseball, golf and some horsey-type stuff for the equestrians, it’s as though the days are on repeat, which they are, mostly. So, here’s what you need to know for day five.

New balls please

Coleman Wong Chak-lam will get a chance to put his coach’s confidence to the test on centre court at the Hengqin International Tennis Centre, taking on the unheralded Duan Hao in the morning’s second game.
