What Thomas Frank thinks Yoane Wissa will do if Tottenham make a bid for him

The race to land Yoane Wissa is now intensifying, with Tottenham now having plenty of competition to contend with for the Brentford star. A new report has now shed light on what Thomas Frank thinks about the Spurs’ chances of landing the striker.

Over the last few weeks, several outlets have claimed that Tottenham could push ahead with a move for Yoane Wissa, but the race for his signature has intensified over the last few days.

Some sources have reported that Spurs may risk missing out on Wissa if they wait too long to make an approach.

Over the last 48 hours, a number of publications have stated that Newcastle United are ready to turn their attention to Wissa as they fear missing out on Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike.

Thomas Frank is confident about Wissa’s transfer decision

At the start of this week, it was revealed by talkSPORT that Wissa’s top preference is to join Tottenham due to Frank’s presence at the club.

Journalist Graeme Bailey has now claimed that the Spurs head coach is confident that the DR Congo international would choose a move to N17 over St James’ Park.

Bailey told TBR Football: “Yoane Wissa’s camp are speaking to four or five different clubs at the moment, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle are two of them, and both would love to sign him.

“Thomas Frank, who worked with Wissa at Brentford, is confident that he would choose Spurs if it came down to it.”

Why have Tottenham not accelerated their efforts to land Yoane Wissa?

Tottenham are focusing their efforts on getting the Morgan Gibbs-White deal done, which may be why they have put the Wissa deal on the back burner.

Reports indicate that Gibbs-White wants to finalise a move to Spurs by Monday, and perhaps we can expect the Lilywhites to press ahead with a move for the Bees star next week.

It sounds like Tottenham and Frank are confident that Wissa’s head would not be turned by an approach from Newcastle or other clubs.
