Tech Men’s Basketball Travels to Belmont for Exhibition Finale

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -Tennessee Tech men's basketball concludes its exhibition schedule with a matchup against Belmont at 6:30 p.m. CT, Monday on the road.

The Golden Eagles opened with a 99-38 win in their first exhibition against SC Central Christian last Tuesday. Tech tips its final exhibition at Belmont, before the regular season gets underway on Nov. 3 at Western Kentucky.

In the exhibition opener against SC Central Christian, the Golden Eagles were led by five players scoring in double digits. Mekhi Turner was the leading scorer with 17 points, Dani Pounds posted 14 points and nine boards, Jacobe Whitted scored 12 points, Mekhi Cameron finished with 11 points, and C.J. McPherson recorded 10 points in the rout.

The Golden Eagles shot 52.9 percent from the field and held a rebound advantage of 52-24 over SC Central Christian. Tech held SCCC to 25 percent shooting (14-56), including 3-25 from three-point range, while limiting it to just six assists on 14 made shots.

The Bruins and Golden Eagles have met 31 times in regular-season action dating back to 1956.

Tech opens the 2025-26 season at Western Kentucky on Monday, November 3, and travels to Charlotte on Friday, November 7, before opening at home against Virginia Lynchburg on Monday, November 10, at 6 p.m. CT.
