Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has been very honest about his side’s first-half performance against West Ham United on Saturday.

Chelsea managed to beat West Ham 3-2 at Stamford Bridge but needed a second-half comeback to earn all three points.

They had a dreadful first 45 minutes, finding themselves 2-0 down at the break. Unsurprisingly, Chelsea supporters were very unhappy with the team and booed them.

Rosenior has now shared what he would have done to the team had he been a Chelsea fan at the game.

Liam Rosenior admits he would have booed Chelsea’s first-half performance if he had been in the crowd

Rosenior has taken Chelsea supporters’ side, admitting that he also would have booed the players after their first-half display.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, which has been shared by football.london, the 41-year-old said: “I have to say the fans were magnificent in the second half. I could sense after two minutes of the second half they were with us. They were right to boo. I would have booed us in the first half.

“Our performance was nowhere near the level it needed to be collectively in terms of our energy and our decision-making. That’s fair.”

New record broken by Rosenior and Chelsea! 🎯

Chelsea have never managed it before…

Alejandro Garnacho is one player who would have particularly infuriated the Stamford Bridge faithful.

The winger had arguably his worst game in a Chelsea shirt since arriving at the club last summer. By the 32nd minute, Garnacho had already lost possession 10 times!

Rosenior will not write the Argentina international off yet, though, especially after his two goals against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup.

What Robert Sanchez had to tell angry Chelsea supporters at half-time

At half-time, things were really starting to boil over as Chelsea fans booed the team. Despite being 2-0 down, though, goalkeeper Robert Sanchez was still confident that the Blues could turn things around.

As Sanchez responded to angry Chelsea supporters, he said: “Come on, stay calm! We’ve got 45 minutes to go, stay relaxed.”

In the end, the Spaniard was proven right, as goals from Joao Pedro, Marc Cucurella and Enzo Fernandez saw the Club World Cup winners complete a second-half comeback.

In Chelsea’s previous Premier League fixture, a 3-1 win against Crystal Palace, Pedro praised Sanchez.

The 28-year-old has been one of the Blues’ best players this season and remains a strong character. That was clear to see from how he reacted to his club’s angry supporters on Saturday.
