Tennis superstar Novak Djokovic and former rival Andy Murray have ended their high-profile coaching arrangement.Murray joined Djokovic’s team ahead of the Australian Open and the union proved successful as the 24-time grand slam champion reached the semi-finals in Melbourne.Afterwards, the 37-year-old said he and Murray would “cool off” before deciding whether to continue together.Know the news with the 7NEWS app: Download todaySpeaking the following month, Djokovic said they had agreed to continue the relationship through to the French Open and didn’t rule out continuing their partnership until Wimbledon.However, those plans are now officially over.“Thank you, coach Andy, for all the hard work, fun and support over last six months on and off the court. I really enjoyed deepening our friendship together,” Djokovic posted on social media.Murray added: “Thanks to Novak for the unbelievable opportunity to work together and thanks to his team for all their hard work over the past six months. I wish Novak all the best for the rest of the season.”Djokovic, who turns 38 next week, will now head into the French Open without Murray in his corner.He has also struggled on the clay with early exits at Monte Carlo and Madrid Open.He will compete at the Geneva Open next week before the French Open begins on May 25.More to come ...
