Shreya Ghoshal to perform at ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 opening ceremony

Tickets for all league matches in India are priced at just INR 100 (approx. US $ 1.14) in the first phase. The pricing aims to ensure packed stadiums and enthusiastic crowds as the women’s game continues to grow in stature and global appeal.

“The opening ceremony at Guwahati promises to be a vibrant and culturally rich celebration of cricket, empowerment, and music,” an ICC statement read. “Shreya Ghoshal’s performance, supported by thematic visuals and on-ground activations, will mark a spectacular start to the month-long celebration of women’s cricket.”

The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 marks the tournament’s return to India after 12 years.

The 2025 Women’s World Cup is the 13th edition of the 50-over cricket tournament and will feature eight teams.

All eight teams will play each other once in a round-robin format with the top four sides after all the group matches qualifying for the semi-finals.

The top-ranked team after the group stage will face the fourth-placed side in the first semi-final, while the second and third-placed teams will battle it out in the other semis encounter.

Defending champions Australia are the most successful team in the history of the Women’s World Cup having won it seven times. England have won it four times and New Zealand once.
