Man United handed dream transfer scenario after shock Xavi Simons twistManchester United transfer news as Alejandro Garnacho's move to Chelsea could be accelerated after news of a possible Tottenham hijack of a Blues dealChelsea are intensifying their efforts to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United (Image: Ash Donelon/Manchester United)Manchester United's hopes of getting the best possible deal for Alejandro Garnacho this summer have been bolstered following news of Chelsea's own transfer plans.Garnacho is currently out of Ruben Amorim's plans after falling out with the United boss at the end of last season. The winger has been nowhere to be seen and is widely expected to leave the club before the window closes.Throughout the summer, speculation has heavily linked him with a move to Chelsea after he turned down a move to Saudi Arabia. The Club World Cup winners have been busy in the transfer window in upgrading their attack despite Enzo Maresca enjoying a fine debut season. This week, reports suggested that the Stamford Bridge outfit are keen to negotiate a bargain fee with United. The Daily Mail have suggested that an initial proposal at around £25million-£30m would be submitted, below United's £50m asking price.Chelsea have also been plotting a move for RB Leipzig playmaker Xavi Simons but have been forced to put that and their pursuit of Garnacho on hold in favour of prioritising exits. However, the Blues are now facing the prospect of their transfer plans changing and it could work in United's favour. football.london have reported that Tottenham have joined the race to sign Simons while Barcelona's Fermin Lopez is being considered at Stamford Bridge.Lopez is naturally a central attacking midfielder with the capability of dropping deeper if needed whereas Simons is more of an attack-minded option. Should Spurs swoop in for Simons, it would leave Chelsea scrambling for a final attacking addition.Fortunately for them, Garnacho is understood to be only wanting a move to the capital and with him having no clear path back into United's team, is available. For United, it means they can demand more money to finally offload Garnacho. It's a dream scenario for the Reds after seeing their asking price drop from £75m earlier in the window to as low as £40m. The Telegraph have claimed that the two sides are close to agreeing terms up to £40m with a move accelerating,.Here at The Manchester Evening News, we are dedicated to bringing you the best Manchester United coverage and analysis.Make sure you don't miss out on the latest United news by joining our free WhatsApp group.
