Hamza Igamane to leave Rangers as Lille match Ibrox club’s £10.4m transfer demand

The renegade striker is poised to quit the Ibrox side who face a mammoth test in Belgium as they look to overturn a 3-1 deficient against Club Brugge

Rangers have agreed a £10.4million deal with French club Lille for Ibrox outcast Hamza Igamane, writes Scott McDermott from Belgium.

Record Sport understands the Ligue 1 outfit have now met Gers' release clause for the Moroccan striker, who refused to play against St Mirren on Sunday.

Igamane told gaffer Russell Martin he was injured and unable to feature from the bench as a sub during the 1-1 draw.

But the 22-year-old passed a fitness test yesterday and was left out of Gers' squad for their Champions League play-off tie against Club Brugge in Belgium.

Now, he's got his wish by sealing a switch to Lille before the transfer window closes.

Igamane has been linked with them all summer and Rangers have now managed to offload the wantaway star, while pocketing a £9 million profit.

Martin said: "We expect that to come to a close soon and he won't be our player anymore so that will be that."

Igamane arrived in Glasgow at the start of last season from AS FAR and scored 16 goals in his first campaign, including an Old Firm winner.

But he returned to pre-season training late after a VISA issue and has barely featured for new boss Martin so far.

Sunday was the last straw for the club and the manager will now have funds to replace Igamane before Monday's deadline.
