Sinner takes the title, but the Waleses steal the show at Wimbledon

The Prince and Princess of Wales and their two eldest children had their annual family outing to the Wimbledon finals this weekend.

The annual tradition started after Kate and William’s marriage in 2011. In December 2016, she was announced as the Patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, taking over the role from Queen Elizabeth.

Kate regularly attends matches, with William usually joining her for the Men’s Finals. In 2022, Prince George joined his parents for the first time, followed by Princess Charlotte in 2023. The couple’s youngest son, Louis, has not yet made his Wimbledon debut.

The princess made her first appearance at the tennis tournament, which ran from 29 June to 12 July, on 3 July for the match against Katie Swan and Madison Keys. She chatted to fans and handed out tickets ahead of the match.

On Saturday, the 44-year-old attended the Women’s Finals solo, where she handed over the championship trophy to Linda Nosková.

It was a family affair on Sunday, as Kate was accompanied by Prince William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte for the Men’s Final between Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev. Sinner triumphed with his second consecutive win.
