The summer window is firmly in full flow as Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham all work on major signings with the World Cup approaching an end. Arsenal have reignited their interest in Julian Alvarez and remain very keen on both Morgan Rogers and Bruno Guimaraes. With Leandro Trossard having left for Besiktas, the Gunners are now expected to step up their interest in Christos Tzolis. Antonio Nusa is a new target.

Manchester United have their two new midfielders in the form of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, but want to continue their overhaul by signing Manu Kone. Crysencio Summerville remains a target, but Marcus Rashford’s future will play a part. Chelsea could also move for Kone, and are lining up a third bid for Pep Chavarria and are still interested in Maxence Lacroix. Manchester City like Malo Gusto, but his £75m asking price is considered too high.

Tottenham are plotting a bid for Eli Junior Kroupi, and are interested in Neco Williams, but both Cristian Romero and Djed Spence could be on their way out. Chelsea rival Man Utd for Kone

Chelsea have entered the race to sign Roma midfielder Manu Kone, holding initial talks over a potential transfer despite strong interest from Manchester United.

That’s according to Italian outlet Corriere della Sera, who report that United had been leading the chase after prioritising midfield reinforcements this summer, but Chelsea are now exploring a deal as they reshape their squad under Xabi Alonso.

Roma are reportedly seeking around €60 million (£51 million) for Kone, who remains one of Europe’s most sought-after midfielders following his standout displays.

Julian Alvarez rejects Arsenal move

Julian Alvarez has rejected the chance to join Arsenal, Spanish outlet Sport reports.

The Gunners had believed they had the edge on Barcelona to sign the Argentina attacker, but Alvarez has his heart set on a move to the Camp Nou side.

He moved from Manchester City to Atletico Madrid in 2024 for £81.8m (€95m) and has scored 25 La Liga goals in two seasons.

He is currently preparing to face England in tonight’s World Cup semi-final, after scoring a spectacular goal against Switzerland in the quarter-finals.

Arsenal told Bruno Guimaraes price

Newcastle have warned Arsenal that signing Bruno Guimaraes this summer will cost around £100 million.

The Magpies have no intention of selling their captain on the cheap, despite Arsenal hoping to strike a deal worth closer to £60 million.

talkSPORT report that there remains a significant gap in valuation, but contact between the clubs has been made and remain ongoing.

Newcastle are reluctant to weaken the team further ahead of the new season after selling both Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali.

Done deal! Trossard leaves Arsenal

Leandro Trossard has completed his move to Besiktas.

The 31-year-old spent three-and-a-half years with Arsenal after joining the club from Brighton in January 2023.

During his time in north London, Trossard featured 174 times in all competitions, scoring 36 goals and providing 34 assists, and was part of Mikel Arteta’s side that won the Premier League title last season.

The Belgium international has 57 caps for his country and featured at this summer’s World Cup.

A statement on Arsenal’s website said: “Everyone at Arsenal would like to thank Leo for his valued contribution to the club and wish him all the best for his future.”

Olise wants Madrid move

According to Footmercato, Michael Olise is intent on securing a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Olise, 24, has just finished his World Cup campaign following France’s 2-0 loss to Spain in the semi-final last night (Tuesday).

He moved to Bayern Munich from Crystal Palace in 2024 for £50.9m (€60m) on a contract until 2029 and has contributed 27 goals and 34 assists in 66 Bundesliga appearances for the Bavarian behemoths.

But now Florentino Perez has made it his mission to secure the former Chelsea and Manchester City academy player Real Madrid’s record signing.

The fee would likely exceed £150m.

Rico Lewis on Everton's radar as Moyes looks to strengthen

Manchester City utility man Rico Lewis is on David Moyes’ Everton shortlist, according to TEAMTalk.

Lewis, 21, is a City academy graduate, but fell out of favour under Pep Guardiola last season.

Now, reports suggest the club are ready to allow the England U-21 international to move on if the Toffees meet their evaluation for him - rumoured to be around £30m.

Everton are also interested in Man City’s Jack Grealish, who was on loan with Moyes’ side last season, but are only willing to spend up to £10m on him, despite City wanting five times that.

He signed for the Sky Blues for £100m in 2021 - a then-British transfer record.

Saudi clubs want Martinelli transfer

Arsenal and Brazil forward Gabriel Martinelli could follow Leandro Trossard through the exit door amid reported interest from several Saudi Pro League clubs.

TEAMTalk report Martinelli, 25, is the subject of interest from Al Nassr, among other Saudi clubs.

Leandro Trossard is expected to complete a £17m move to Besiktas in the coming days, after being pictured arriving in Turkey, meaning Martinelli’s potential departure will leave Arsenal very light at left-wing.

Mikel Arteta is trying to resolve this by signing Club Brugge and Greece forward Christos Tzolis, according to rumours from several sources.

Martinelli scored a last-gasp winner against South Korea in the round of 32 to put Brazil through, before they were eliminated in the last 16 by Norway and an Erling Haaland double in a 2-1 loss.

Bissouma set for Premier League stay

Former Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma could be set to remain in the Premier League after the expiry of his contract in June.

According to TalkSport’s Alex Crooks, Fulham are ready to offer the Mali midfielder a contract.

New Cottagers boss Alvaro Arbeloa is looking to strengthen his squad and build on Marco Silva’s 11th place finish.

Arbeloa’s only top-flight experience was a short stint in charge of Real Madrid following the abrupt end to Xabi Alonso’s seven-month reign in January.

However, despite signing a three-year contract the former Spain international and World Cup winner was effectively an interim. He was replaced by Jose Mourinho.

Juventus considering Balogun signing

Off the back of a World Cup hat-trick - and a President Trump-inspired red card controversy - Folarin Balogun is interesting a lot of big clubs around Europe.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, one such club is Italian giants Juventus, who are on the lookout for a new striker after the departure of Duhan Vlahovic on his contract’s expiry.

Balogun, 25, currently plays his club football for AS Monaco, who are likely to demand at least £42.5m (€50m) for the USMNT striker.

The Old Lady are also considering France forward Randal Kolo Muani, who had a successful loan spell in Turin back in 2025, but fared less well in a season-long loan at Tottenham, scoring just one league goal.

USA were eliminated by Belgium in the last 16 after a 4-1 loss, with Balogun unable to help his national team win two successive World Cup knockout games for the first time in their history.

Leipzig set £51m Nusa asking price

Amid reported interest in Norway and RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa from Arsenal and Liverpool, Sky Sports Deutschland’s Philipp Hinze has reiterated Leipzig’s asking price of at least £51m (€60m).

The forward, 21, featured in a lively cameo from the bench in Norway’s 2-1 quarter-final loss to England on Saturday, forcing a tidy stop from Jordan Pickford after cutting in off the left-wing.

Arsenal are looking to replace Besiktas-bound Leandro Trossard, while Liverpool - despite having already signed winger Victor Munoz from Osasuna - want more depth on the flanks after Mohamed Salah’s departure on a free transfer earlier this month.
